Guest guest
I have an 8 year old asperger's boy that just finished 2nd grade. I have 3 other nt kids. I am probably pre-menopausal, but have always been an outspoken type. I'm at that " age " but maybe I'm just tired of taking too much shit? Kwim? Now, my hormones are a rollercoaster ride and I find I'm even more outspoken and have less patience. What a combo, huh? Me and my dh have always thought that our ds was different. I thought ds took after me, and was strong-willed. When he started having blow-ups and sensory issues, I knew there would be a diagnosis somewhere soon. Anyone else suspect about family members that don't have a diagnosis???? We're new to this area and like it so far. I got a bike out of storage and have started to use it. It's amazing how it can really de-stress me when I'm too wound -up. Still, there are days when that's not enough and I just don't know how to help myself get through another day. Am I the only one that feels that way? Some days I know I can't remember the last time I had the time to take a shower and that I've been wearing a ballcap too long and will have to eventually wash my hair. I am an avid baker. I can outbake Betty Crocker anyday. I bake alot of chocolate cakes, cupcakes, brownies and sometimes just eat the frosting outa the pot--it never survives the wait for the cupcakes. I am wondering if there are any women in the area that would like to get together for social events? Just us. No husband's or kids. Sometimes wine will be necessary, other times maybe a bike ride or a trip to my house to indulge in my cupcakes (I'm very metro accessible.) Anyways, I know there are groups out there but I haven't really seen one that focuses on the mom's and our social/emotional needs. If it exists, let me know, otherwise, I'm game to start something! My wine glass needs another refill. Cheers, Ladies.
