It just proliferates across the internet because those who have it are unaware of what it is doing on their machine. I see that you use AOL, so your mail goes through MS Outlook. That program is very susceptible to the virus. Barth NEW: TOXIC MOLD SURVEY: www.presenting.net/sbs/sbssurvey.html
Guest guest
I don't think it has anything to do with how outspoken you are about mold and corruption - it ran rampant through some other groups to which I belong, and they dealt with Irish music. I'm not the carrier, though - I don't have any addresses in my address book! Ken wrote: > > Seems there is another virus in town. I've been told the name of it > is klez. Guest guest
The messages Klez sends out are signed by random entries it finds in the address book on the infected computer. Thus, Ken is *NOT* likely to have Klez, but that his name is in the address book of someone else who is infected. Here's an article on this aspect: http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,52174,00.html Regards, Jerrod MasonProtech Environmental ServicesAnn Arbor, MI ====================== Message: 3 Date: Sun, 9 Jun 2002 11:18:23 -0400 From: Barth <pbarth@...>Subject: Re: Re: Somebody is using my name - mine toI think that you're all referring to a post that came through from KENMOULTON that was actually the Klez worm virus. Ken, you must have thison your machine and need to get rid of it. It has probably beensending out messages to everyone in your Outlook address book. This isone very good reason to get a different e-mail client. I use The Bat,which is not subject to these viruses and is also a wonderful program.
