Guest guest
We heard the same thing over and over and over in elementary school. This past year we decided to go the private route and went to a specialist and had our dd tested. Before this school year started, I took the dx in to a meeting with the school and now it is a whole different story as far as what they will and can do for my dd. THe school told us that they can not support in any way and are unable to further access OT services for her.I asked how that could / would change with a dx and was told that it would not.As she is "OK" according to them at school (although she does not socialise well, and tells us she does all that she can to hold ittogether and not have a meltdown at school) - they say there is nothingthat they can do.THere is NO access to funds or additional support in any form.Is this really true - we live in Aust.Any helpful advise welcomed!! Guest guest
I find it better to get private testing. This might not be the case, but for Maddie she got tested at the school and the doc said she had "autistic" traits, but not enough be to autistic. I had her in a social skills group that was run by a great doc that wanted to do more tests and was finally dx'ed aspie.Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®From: "Lynne Banks" <lbanks8928@...>Sender: Date: Thu, 11 Nov 2010 08:51:46 -0600< >Reply Subject: Re: [sPAM] ( ) Grr - is this really true?
