Ok, I got one for the group....

I get a phone call at work today from my son telling me he thinks he has herpes.

Son: Mom, I have herpes

Me: What!!

Son: Yeah, I looked it up on the internet.

Me: What? What makes you think this?

Son: I have some red bumps on my penis. When you get home can you look at it?

Me: What? Who told you about this? (I was refering to the herpes)

Son: Well will you look at it?

Me: We'll talk about it when I get home.

When I get home he asks me again if I would look at it. Ok, my son is 14 and I'm

sorry but I just didn't feel comfortable doing this. So anyway...

Me: So how do you know about herpes?

Son: You know Mom, they talk about it at school

Me: Ok since you looked it up on the internet, how do you get herpes?

Son: I don't know.

Me: I thought you looked it up.

Son: Yeah, but just to see what it looked like.

Me: Well I'll tell you how you get it. You get it by having sex.

Son: Oh. Well what is it then. Can you look at it?

Now, I'm sure many of you can relate to the fact that our kids have maturity

deficits from their peers. So my son is 14, but is really like a 11 year old in

his perspective on most things. So he is really clueless when kids at school

talk about certain things. Come to find out he has what looks like a heat rash,

but we will confirm with the dr.

Anyway, to my question. My son has always had these paranoias with deseases or

germs, bugs and other things that I can't think of right now. Just wondering if

any of you had this with your kids? My son will get obsessed if he hears about

some illness, bacteria or whatever and will not let it go. He will get very

paranoid about it. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Hope this got a laugh out from some of you! Sometimes you just gotta laugh! :-)
