Guest guest
Hi, Our young teen/tween daughter has several foods she must avoid, and a friend has commented a couple of times that as she grows she needs to learn that I can't match everything her friends are eating (in the context of matching what the other campers eat etc). How do I explain that matching where I can *is* important to her fitting in where she can (she already stands out in several other ways that can't be avoided), and that this is more important as she grows up/matures, not less important. The person has young children (nowhere near tween-age), and little or no experience with food sensitivities. & nbsp; Thanks. -- Sent from my Palm Pixi

Just like that! It might also help to ask her if she remembers what it was like being a teen. Its tough enough even when you're not different. I agree with you completely. You are not going to be able to match everything, but helping her fit in where she can is a good thing.
