Guest guest
I use a PH testing device that unfortunetly costs about 100 bucks, but gives you your ph to within a tenth of a number. It's from Hanna Instuments, can be seen at www.hannainst.com. Mine is the pH/ED/TDS waterproof for family and is the red one. Guest guest
Oh I'm going out on a limb here, but I read a few things about ph and that alkalizine your water won't change it much, more has to do with food. I'm saying this as a person that bought a very expensive device to alkalize my water and my ph didn't change. Guest guest
Thank you, Dee. I will keep the group informed on the progress. According to the Curaderm BEC5 web site the entire treatment process can take up to six or eight weeks. From what I have observed I'm about 30% through the process, I've noticed some new skin layers forming. In another few weeks I should know more. Guest guest
Which fluid do you test? Saliva is most reliable, but I doubt you can get enough to use the Hannah meter. I have a couple Hanna pH meters, and they need a few ml of sample. God bless you! Guest guest
I test urine, first one of the morning. As I eat such an alkaline diet the readings during the day are usually pretty high ph-wise, above 7.5, but the morning one is usually around 6 or 6.5. You'd have to do a lot of spitting to get enough saliva lol, as the unit has to be submersed about an inch and is about 2 inches wide and maybe 3/4 of and inch thick. I've tried the ph stix, but usually I can't correlate a number as the orange side and the green side don't match anything on the color chart. It's funny how ph is so different for different things. My stool ph is always perfect at 7 to 7.5, but my saliva is all over the place and my urine depends on diet. BTW stool....I don't do! These are lab tests. Guest guest
I had the same results as Arthur, using a pH instrument from Fisher Scientific. I had bought an inexpensive but effective alkalizer, the output was 10.5, and my saliva pH didn't noticeably change. Anyone here have success with a particular protocol? Guest guest
Hello Edy, Like most people who have decided to take their health in their own hands, exchange and gain knowledge, I am running a mild experiment, with myself as the test subject. The objective of this experiment is to maintain my PH levels in the 7.4 range +. I was not sure that the alkalized water alone, is what caused my PH to shift into a higher alkaline range, it could have been the organic green tea, or the large amount of berries and veggies I've consumed, but one thing I do know is the results have been encouraging. I test both, my saliva and urine, twice a day. Once in the morning, and before sleep. It would sure be nice if there was some kind of magic fruit, or pill to take once a day that would rapidly shift the PH levels to a more alkaline state, but I'm not aware of one at this time. Edy, it is my understanding the human body is about 60% water, so logic would suggest drinking, consuming alkaline water would most likely have some effect, depending of course on the amounts consumed over a 24 hour period and a person metabolism. I'm not sure what to say regarding your water alkalizer, or the fact drinking alkaline water had no effect on your PH levels, as I am still a novice at this entire process myself, and am not really qualified to suggest or advise anyone, although you may want to ask others who have much more experience. Guest guest
Hi Mike,  Lots and lots of vegies will shift your ph. I'm definetly no expert, but I think Arthur agrees with me on this one that the water won't do it for you. But if it does....yea!!! We just excrete so much water. I think it was Wile that said changing ph takes food not alkalizing the water. I'm a complete novice so just trying to learn. P/N 33812-5580, pH paper, 5.5-8 (acid/base), 0.5 pH interval, 50 strips/pack. See web site below; http://www.indigo.com/test-strips/gph-test-strips/ph-paper-5.5-8.html Edy, I can not tell you for a fact what the actual accuracy of these PH strips are, since I do not have an accurate base reference, medical quality test equipment to compare against. See web site below; http://www.indigo.com/test-strips/gph-test-strips/ph-paper-5.5-8.html Edy, I can not determine, as a fact, the true accuracy of these PH test strips, since I do not have a reference base, medical test equipment to measue against. FYI, over the last few days my PH levels have been fluctuation, since I don't always have the luxury of sitting down twice a day to consume large amounts of berries, and veggies. 6.5 to 7.2 is what my PH levels have been running. I suspect I will have to determine another method of maintaining a PH level of 7.4+. Edy, if you, or other members of this group know of other methods for maintaining PH levels in the 7.4+ range, and care to share that information, it would be appreciated. In the meantime I will return to researching this subject over the Internet. Guest guest
There are many ways to raise the pH value of our body. Lots of vegies and/or fruit juice is one way. Drinking alkaline water is another way. Reduce the intake of meat protein is also helpful. There is a quick and sure as well as less expensive way to increase the body pH is as follow: 1. Put sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) in a clean bottle, add water to make a saturated solution out of it - when the baking soda settles at the bottle, then, it is saturated. 2. Buy a bottle of unfiltered apple cider vinegar. 3. Mix about 30 cc each in a glass slowly and let is bubble for a couple of minutes. 4. When the bubble subsided, add honey to make it tasty, warm it up and drink the mixture about 1/2 or 1 hour before bed time. 5. Use test paper to check your urine pH in the morning and you will be amazed that it will be in the alkaline side. If your body has too much acid, try this drink for a few days and you will see a change. You can check your saliva and see if there is any change. 6. Both apple cider vinegar and baking soda are common food items and they cannot hurt you at all unless you overdose them. Make sure you DO NOT over do it to your body as too alkaline is no good either. Your God given body is very delicate and a " good balance " is the key for a health body. I have tried the above method many times with my own body and it works every time without failure. Take care. I'm definetly no expert, but I think Arthur agrees with me on this one that the water won't do it for you. But if it does....yea! !! We just excrete so much water. I think it was Wile that said changing ph takes food not alkalizing the water. I'm a complete novice so just trying to learn. The biopsy revealed that the small patch of skin on my face, left cheek, which I was concerned with, was in fact Basal Cell Carcinoma. Guest guest
Thanks, Bill. My intake of consuming red meats when measured over a period of one year is almost zero. My intake of chicken is moderate, while seafood is the mainstay. Veggies, berries, and green leaf salads are high intake items. Again, thanks, I'll give it a try, and integrate your suggested drink into my routine, and continue monitoring my PH levels until I can meet and maintain that 7.4+ PH range.
