==>From what I understand essential oils are not processed for

internal use, so I wouldn't recommend taking them. Maybe your health

store will order it for you.

Thanks Bee, Im glad I posted that message above, will have to keep trying to

see if I can locate some oregano oil thats for internal use, no luck yet.

==>IMO garlic is just as effective as oregano oil. Clove oil is also

very good.

Bee

Bee with Nystatin, if I was going to take a course of that, are there side

effects from ongoing use/how long would you take it for, and is it more

effective than the garlic? (cant get clove oil either) currently Im taking

garlic and having pure coconut oil with all my food.

==>Nystatin is very effective too. In the mid 1980s and I took it

(under Doctor's care) for 2 1/2 years. I wouldn't say it is more

effective than garlic, and also garlic provides many other benefits

that you couldn't get from Nystatin. Just taking garlic and coconut

oil is fine. You wouldn't need any more antifungals - " more is not

better. "

Personally, I don't find oregano oil (or coconut oil) as effective

as raw crushed garlic - I am using the healthy-health brand oil or

oregano, which has a high (84+%) of carvacol and is derived from

wild mountain grown oregano - and I know it's a good one because I

checked it with Bee before I bought it - but the die-off I

experience from it is very mild - none of the skin rashes or stomach

cramps that i experience when I use raw crushed garlic, instead I

get mild headaches, the ever-present gas, and occasionally some

fatigue. I'm a bit torn - on the one hand I'm HAPPY that the die-off

is mild, but at the same time wonder if I am making enough progress

as I would if I were using more raw crushed garlic?

For example, I had some raw crushed garlic last week, and it was as

if a bomb had been dropped in my stomach as soon as I'd taken it -

followed by immediate bloating and gas, then a week long rash on my

face. I don't want to go through that all the time, but at least I

know it was doing the job!

I've even increased the amount of oregano oil I am taking each day,

but the die-off hasn't increased. Any thoughts?

==>Hi Mike. I believe that raw crushed garlic is better than oregano

oil too, but I list oregano oil along with garlic because so many

people don't want to deal with garlic breath and odor. I'd rather

they take oregano oil if they have back off on taking garlic, and

take it consistently, than try to take garlic but are inconsistent.

That makes good sense Bee - for the last 4 months I've been adding

garlic to my food every day but lately have been doing so much less -

I wanted to back off a bit from anti-fungals as the constant die

off in the form of skin rashes on my face was getting me down. It's

worked - I only use oil of oregano at the moment, and my skin is

amazing, only one single acne spot, and of the eczema, I have only a

bit of dry skin (which is taken away by applying coconut oil) but

none of the usual overall redness or blotches. Unheard of for me - I

look and feel a different person! So I'm thriving at the moment on

your candida plan and using my common sense not to overdo it, as I

have done in the past.

Saying all that, I think it will set my mind at ease to take half a

clove of raw crushed garlic consistently once every day, or maybe

every other day from now on (in addition to the oil of oregano), and

see how I react to it - because at the end of the day, I DO want to

kill of my candida, but I don't want skin rashes on my face anymore

while I do so. Less is definitely better for me!

==>??? No, there is no problem taking oregano oil in a gelatin

capsule, or taking it in oil or hot water.

Hi Liane

I'm in WA - Australia too. Have you actually been able to find Oregano Oil in

Australia? I wasn't able to find it at all. I bought mine from

www.healthy-health.com and it's powerful stuff. Their fact sheet says it

contains over 86.9% Carvacrol, which is a bit higher than what their web site

says at 84.5%. Either way, that's a high percentage of the working ingredient.

Hi Liane

I really like the " Healthy-Health " brand someone mentioned on this site. I

just recently got some, it is much stronger (84% carvacrol) than the other

brand I was using and cheaper too. They have a sale going on now, buy two

get one free!!! I don't know if they ship to Oz though but you could check

it out.

I took Oregano Oil also, because I read Dr. Cass's book " the Cure is in the

Cupboard " and another one by him. But it was at a time I was having weird

things happening to how I was feeling last year, about a year ago. So quit it

at the suggestion of at 1st Chinese Herbs. As she couldn't find any real

good info on it and felt I was trying to take too many things anyway, which

could have affected my Buhner protocol.

Someone asked if anyone takes Oregano oil and what are their

reactions. I take an Oregano oil pill fairly often in the evening, partly

because i heard it's antibiotic, and partly for osteoporosis. According to a

2003 Swiss report in " Bone " journal, essential oils of thyme, oregano, and sage

inhibit osteoclast activity. So I drink sage tea in the evening and take an

oregano oil pill --- just one of the many things i do for osteoporosis. I have

no idea if it works. My last Bone Density Scan last month showed bone growth --

an improvement.

Side effects --- On some mornings I think i feel a slightly irritated nasal

lining, then i remember I took an Oregano oil pill last night, and I blame it.

That's all.

==>Remember not to start on a strong antifungal like oregano oil too

soon. First do the diet and take all of the supplements, (also start

on coconut oil right away, which is antifungal) and after you are

able to take 6 tbls of coconut oil and you have gotten through a lot

of the die-off symptoms you can start on antifungals. Starting them

too early will cause die-off/healing symptoms that will be

intolerable, and not necessary. Natural healing takes time,

patience, and persistence in giving your body the nutrients it

requires in order to heal.

For more info on oregano oil brands, etc. see our Group's Files (left

menu) and looks for the " B) Candida Antifungals " Folder.

==>Yes, you can increase it gradually to that amount, but take the

higher amount no longer than 10 days. Do not be concerned about

experiencing detox/die-off (which probably will occur) unless the

symptoms become intolerable. In that case, cut back on the amount

and increase them over a longer period of time.

I bought a bottle of oregano oil (Oreganol) $20 for .27 oz bottle

I have had a flat wart for close to 15 years and oregano oil is supposed

to get rid of flat warts.

I apply a drop once to 4 times per day and have done this since

november. It has not gotten smaller or gone away. It has not increased

in size either.
