Guest guest
Beverly, I developed MCS, in addition to, and as a result of, stachybotrys mycotoxicity. I believe that the mycotoxicity causes an incredible reaction to the immune systems of those susceptible. In my case I found that moving to a sparse environment to give my immune system the opportunity to recover worked. My advice to you would be to spend your money, first and foremost, on your environment, and not on outrageous “up front fees”. Furthermore, I do not believe that any of these M.D’s charging these fees are going to do anything more for you than what I suggest. At this time I do not believe there is any “magic bullet” which will purge your system of “toxins” nor is there any “tonic” which will restore your immune system. The answer is to give your immune system the opportunity to recover on its own, which it will do if you provide the chemical free environment that it needs. It seems that we have left one problem to discover another. We are now out of the mold, but now I'm showing severe MCS symptoms so much worse than before.... I am now discovering that I can walk from room to room in this place and notice where it's so much worse is in rooms that contain anything vinyl and the room (kitchen) with the most wood cabinets. It's getting so severe with the vinyl that I am reacting severely in my car where my throat is abruptly swelling. The symptoms that I am having range from constant nasal drainage, brain fog, mood swings, sore throat or swelling of throat, redness on entire face, and horrible excruciating ear pain in right ear. I began thinking that I just had "normal" sinus infection and/or ear infection because the pain in my ear continues to worsen, so I went to the family doctor today. But during the day before my appointment, I realized that I would want into other rooms (without those items with vinyl, etc.) and my nasal drainage would almost completely stop. How strange! Then, I go back in the other areas and it starts again. I go ahead to the doc just in case. As expected, he says my ears look perfect. I also found while in the docs brand new building and waiting room that I got very sick again and started having cold chills that left once I left the waiting room.....yes, new vinyl chairs! I am so amazed at what's happening as it had never been this severe even while in the mold exposures. This home we're in is only 3 years old and evidentally is causing some of the problems that weren't as bad before. Has anyone had these type experiences? What can be done for them? The docs that deal with mold, MCS, the neurological aspects that we've talked to recently need $3,000.00 per person UP FRONT or more just to evaluate us (there are 4 of us!)...even with health insurance.... that's not including the other speciality docs they'll refer to that will charge that much per person up front as well. How do you guys find docs to help that you can afford? Will regular allergy meds help these severe MCS problems? Not sure what to do at this point... so frustrated once again.... can't live comfortably in yet another home... can't drive or ride in my car without getting sick and swollen throat now. These are things I totally didn't expect... Can anyone offer advice? (I have come across someone in my local area that also developed a severe allergy to vinyl and ended up being treated at the Environmental Health Clinic in Dallas, TX. I know some say they're quite expensive, but I've heard they will accept some insurance.) All help/advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.
