Guest guest
<snip> This convinced me that that spores had not penetrated the filter or blankets and that the toxic gas was truly my primary irritant. This was confirmed by Dr Marinkovich who told me that a housing project in Sweden had recently been identified with sick inhabitants but no spores could be found. Only when the walls were opened up were the colonies found, but they were so tightly sealed in the walls that only the toxic gas could escape. Thanks . I became very ill exposed a dust/mold contaminated environment in april 2001. We moved to our current residence in oct 2001,only to learn that the " closed up odor " didn't go away when we aired the place out. Have found 3 areas of water damage that 4 inspectors overlooked... Anyway, to the VOC point, we were doing OK so long as we had fresh outside air circulating through. I planned to build-in a replacement air exchanger w/ positive pressure thinking that we'd push whatever might remain hidden in the walls outward...THEN... Last month workmen started showing-up at our neighboring house. Turnsout they're doing a mold remediation, I've relapsed. They used a back window to exhust their air clearence. They claim to be using hepa, yet there was a tremendous stench coming from neighbors yard, esp the 1st 2 weeks. Somuch for circulating fresh air through our house as we are predominatinly downwind & at close range (30 or so feet- not enough distance for the wind to disperse the Contaminants) <sigh> If in fact they used hepa, the Contaminant then must be VOCs(mycotoxins, ect) Question is: what can I use on our air replacement to filter out the VOCs ? Also, for those of you working on legislative issues, when a remediation is being planned isn't it resonable to serve notice to occupants in close range that there is a potential biohazzard soon to be released. Thx, Tom
