Guest guest
Do you know about soap nuts? You use these to do your washing with and they are excellent. It costs about ten pounds to do a year or mores washing and they are very enviro friendly. I use white vinegar to clean sinks, baths, toilets etc. dee On 8 Oct 2009, at 04:01, susanla97229 wrote: > Hello- I'm new to this group. Guest guest
Dear , I would suggest a couple of good sources for safe soaps and body products: www.DrStore.com www.CTSOriginals.com (Carmen Myers' site) www.SaferSoaps.com Their UltraSafe Plus is excellent, we use it for most things at our house www.VermontSoap.com We use their organic Liquid Castile soap for all laundry. Blessings! Arthur www.BestZapper.com www.ForgetDrugs.com P. S. We have a good free ebook with other sources and Dr. 's cleanse recipes at www.BestZapper.com, just below the picture of Lyn and me. Getting started...anyone else? Hello- I'm new to this group. I'm looking for others who are starting to put the protocols into place. I've done a lot with my diet, but there is sooo much more. I'd really like to chat with others who are trying to revolutionize their diet, and household environment (including pets). I would really like to make commitments like, this month I'm going to get my cleaning products in place... do that and then the next month put personal products in place, etc. Anybody else at this stage interested? Guest guest
Hello Dee, Thanks for the information about soap nuts. I am now using white vinegar for cleaning the counters, sinks, baths, too. Are you using Borax and washing soda? How exactly do you use them. I'm confused because I've read Borax can be slightly caustic. Do you have to wear gloves? If using for washing hands, a little mixed with water? It's the details that are making me slow to get them in use in my house. Thanks so much. > > Do you know about soap nuts? You use these to do your washing with > and they are excellent. Guest guest
OK, thanks Dee. One would not want to use Borax in the dishwasher, correct? I wonder if soda crystals would be good for the dishwasher. Has anyone had success with a dishwashing detergent alternative? Thanks. > > > Hello Dee, > > Thanks for the information about soap nuts. > > > > I am now using white vinegar for cleaning the counters, sinks, > > baths, too. > > > > Are you using Borax and washing soda? > > How exactly do you use them. Guest guest
I see that some people confuse Borax with Boric Acid. They are not the same thing. Boric Acid is Caustic. Borax is not. I personally use Borax for laundry, dish soap and shampoo (rinsing with citric acid solution). Hope that helps. <snip> > Hello Dee, > Are you using Borax and washing soda? > How exactly do you use them. I'm confused because I've read Borax can be slightly caustic. Guest guest
Hi : Do you need to rinse with citric acid solution just when shampooing. If so, why not with dishes? Thanks for the clarification. > <snip> > > Hello Dee, > > Are you using Borax and washing soda? > > How exactly do you use them. I'm confused because I've read Borax can be slightly caustic. Guest guest
, I think the citric acid is just has something to do with getting rid of traces of Borax solution in your scalp and hair. Could be a pH factor as well. Its been a while since I read about this so I'm going by memory but I think it adds luster as well. OMG; important! Use a Borax solution not the powder, in your hair. Recipe in book but... Dissolve as much as will stay in solution in hot water. Pour liquid into another bottle for shampoo. Save the rest to make more for when you run out. I also use Borax in my dishwasher (when I use it) I add a little water to the soap compartments to make a slurry with the Borax so it doesn't clump when the water hits it. I've had that happen too. I do not use it as a hand soap. I dissolve soap chips from my handmade soap in water and put it in an empty handsoap dispenser. I'm not up to date on the latest recipes as I am behind in reading the books so there may be newer ideas out there. > > > > I see that some people confuse Borax with Boric Acid.
