Guest guest
Greetings, I thought this article might be of interest to you/ and /or group: At FAQ #21 of the website of Dominic N Anfiteatro, (DOM), (url: http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefir-faq.html ) kefir's abilities to control weed organisms of many different kinds is discussed. Especially relevant to dairy farmers is a discussion which I had failed to see before on his extensive site. I am posting on it here to help give some possibilites for handling cases of mastitis with something other than antibiotics which can cause as many problems as they cure. From the line on down is the quote with researchers names, etc. wherein I have added bold and underline highlights to make the relevant information easier to find. ___________________________________________________________________________ Important Information of sorts To Chew your Cud On " Prof. José Wiest - Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. This professor along with many other scientists interested in this field, oriented a master's thesis, the object of which was to verify the hygienic-sanitary characteristics of kefir samples. The preparation of kefir entails a lot of handling, and the study aimed to survey possible contamination. Wiest stated: We collected six different samples of kefir and no type of contamination whatsoever was found in any of them. This result gains relevance when we consider that the kefir found in southern Brazil was brought there in the mid 19th century by immigrants from Eastern Europe. One can imagine the multitude of different hands that those grains were subjected to over that time, and just in that location let along previous handling by multitudes of individuals who used the grains from which those in Brazil were derived. Having proven kefir's resistance to contamination from handling by ordinary people in home environments, the researchers decided to induce contamination of kefir samples by coliform [faecal bacteria]. After three days, the samples were again completely free of contamination. According to Wiest, kefir has a microbial complex that frees antibiotics, ensuring control of the colony and making it resistant to fungus and salmonella. The professor's specialty is veterinary medicine and researchers are currently studying the therapeutic effect of replacing antibiotics with kefir in the treatment of cow-teat infections. Some cows sensitive to biogenic bacteria no longer respond to modern antibiotics, he says. The object of this experiment is to discover if kefir is efficient in combating these bacteria ... If the results are satisfactory, we will be able to produce milk that is totally free of antibiotics. [This information was kindly translated and provided by Doris Ethel Hefti, from Brazil. Thank-You kindly, Doris with addendum by Dominic N Anfiteatro]. ______________________________________________________________________ Joyce Simmerman There is ALWAYS a " BETTER WAY " ! Guest guest
Very interesting article and a reminder of kefir as a healing food. Is this in Dr. 's protocol at all. Any thoughts on milk versus water kefir? I'm very interested... Thanks. > Greetings, I thought this article might be of interest to you/ and /or group: > > At FAQ #21 of the website of Dominic N Anfiteatro, (DOM), (url: http://users.sa.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefir-faq.html ) kefir's abilities to control weed organisms of many different kinds is discussed. Guest guest
Greetings, I haven't found any references in Dr. 's writings referencing kefir at all. I too would like to know. Her indices are very incomplete in the books. I believe one can do a better job online with the books there, but not all are there. I don't recall if I've searched that as a keyword or not. When I am reading in the hard copies, I try to insert numbers from pages of keywords I look up from time to time and " stumble across " in her books. My additions are counting up. If anyone has knowledge of her teachings on kefir I would be interested ... OR for yogurt as we would be able to make an extrapolation from that since kefir has about 8X as many beneficial microflora of all types as yogurt does.
