Hey ,

It is hard to say what stage of Candida I am in.

I can't afford to see a Naturopath and my insurance does not cover it. I

hear from friends you can end up

spending $1000's.

Now the question I ask myself " Am I worth it?'

Well sure.....

There's a Big But....

But I want to self treat first and listen to my body.

So far I am reading a lot of info about Candida for the first time.

The diet is great. I am just starting so I am taking it slow.

Like the other night I ate a mango, Oh man.... I was scratching a lot

that night.

So I am going to eat another mango this morning and see if my body reacts

differently in the morning as opposed to the night.

It seems it hits me hard at night when I am not doing much.

When I am at work, I am not bothered by it (I work at See's candies) and

haven't touched nor had the desire

to eat the candy in two weeks. yepeeeeeeeeeeeee

I think it is the dietary supplement Yeast Defense that I am taking.

I am doing Yeast defense which has Caprylic acid, grapefruit seed extract

and garlic

and Pau d arco 2 pills twice a day.

I am taking garlic in pearl form (2 a day) and I am following up with

probiotics (2 a day).

So far I am feeling pretty good. I am shopping more organic than ever.

Right now

I am trying to find a good colon cleanse and I don't wanna order if off

the Internet.

I want to know and SEE my produce and know my source.

My question was...--- can candida cause someone to itch all over

internally or is it menopause???

Sometimes I think this is just a phase of menopause and I have to wait it

out.

But yet the scratching reminds me of yeast infection itch/scratch. My

vaginal itching is not that bad.

I rub Sarna lotion on and the cool menthol gets rid of the itching. I

don't know why, but it feels good

and relieving. I don't have a discharge so I don't have a yeast

infection.

But candida is different from yeast infection. It is a part of it but

different.

I am not hearing from many on this website about internal itching. One

doctor four months ago

diagnosed me with that. My chest, neck, stomach, inner thighs, especially

in moist areas, under

my arms, under my breast.. It is weird.

Candida is my best bet. So I am going for it and eating right. I weight

150 lbs. right now and am 5'6 " .

I joined Curves to firm up and I have been eating Craig food for

over two years.

After 30 years I stopped drinking coffee last week. I am drinking Green

tea now.

No sugar, no Carbs, no yeast products, fermented and mold foods. I am

really focusing on what I put in my mouth, because sooner or later

it has to come out. When it goes through my body and finds the overgrowth

of yeast, molds

and fungus' as it goes down, I don't want them to find anything to feast

on.

I want them to GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

As my stomach is shrinking I am finding I need less food. But during the

day my stomach feels

flat. Like bottomless. I drink lots of WATER. I was programed to do that

anyway thru the JC program.

I am going to the Whole Foods this Sat. and find a good colon cleanse. It

has to have Psylluim, Bentonite

and liquid Caprylic acid. To clean up my intestinal environment and

remove colon toxicity, I will take the Ben/Psy mixture once or twice

daily. Do the CapA every fourth week for 5 consecutive days.

OR

I will find pill form.....lol

I want to find out more about GSE and EFA...

I want to find me a good miltivitamin i.e. Formula V 2000.

I want to buy some Kombucha Tea (I don't think I have the patience to

make it homemade and it

seems costly to get equipment).

Get some stevia, Xyilitol or SmartSweet for sugar subs.

I washed all my undies in tea tree oil and I will do that a lot now.

Many physicians now believe that a clinical trial for candida overgrowth

is of so little risk and expense that it should be considered in any

chronic illness.

One clinical trial a person may try is to avoid certain foods for five

days which are known to facilitate the growth of yeast. Such foods

include the following:

SUGAR and SIMPLE CARBOHYDRATES such as found in all sweetened food

including the use of honey, molasses, sorghum, maple syrup, sugar,

fructose, maltose, dextrose, corn syrup, etc.

YEAST PRODUCTS such as beer, wine, yeast leavened bread, natural B

vitamins, brewer's yeast

FERMENTED and MOLD FOODS such as mushrooms, cheese, vinegar, mustard,

catsup, relish and other condiments made with vinegar.

After avoiding these foods for 5 days, try adding them back into the diet

in large quantities. By observing how one feels while off these foods, in

comparison to any adverse affects experienced when going back on the

foods, one may get a clue as to any possible yeast involvement as a

causative factor for any adverse symptoms.

HOW DO YOU GET RID OF IT?

If adverse symptoms are provoked by a return to the yeast enhancing

foods, your physician may feel that there is at least a possible reason

to suspect candida overgrowth, which may then warrant more definitive

action.

This action generally is targeted toward two objectives:

First, to kill the candida through the use of anti-candida products as

well as deprive the yeast of the food on which it flourishes (namely,

sweets, sugars, refined grains, fermented foods, yeast product), and

Second, to restore biochemical balance to the body and strength to the

immune system, which will allow the body once again to regain and

maintain control over candida growth.

KILLING CANDIDA

To destroy candida , or " even the odds, " so to speak, a physician may

choose to prescribe a drug by the name of Nystatin, or one of several

available products containing nystatin. It is an antibiotic, which means

that it is made by one kind of germ (such as a mold) to kill another germ

(such as strep, staph, tuberculosis, etc.).

Nystatin is an antibiotic that kills yeasts, and only yeasts. It is one

of the least toxic known drugs; even when large amounts are ingested,

only small traces actually get into the bloodstream. The pure powdered

form is generally accepted as more effective.

Although nystatin is very effective in killing candida , many people

develop an allergic-type sensitivity to it with prolonged use. For this

reason, many physicians are now considering alternatives for the job.

Foremost among these is the use of products containing caprylic acid.

Caprylic acid is a natural substance, a fatty acid, but it is totally

lethal to candida . It is available over the counter and appears to be

equal to nystatin in effectiveness. However, it is not known to produce

the sensitivity side-effects of the nystatin drugs. Of the caprylic acid

products on the market, CAPRYLIC ACID (90), KAPRICIDIN-A and ORITHRUSH,

when used together, appear to be the most effective by virtue of their

capacity to address the entire digestive tract.

Other natural aids in the fight against candida are garlic and PAU D'

ARCO (or Taheebo) tea, both believed to have natural fungicidal

properties. Garlic is preferably taken raw, but may be effectively

utilized in capsule form in a product by the name of PHARMAX GARLIC

FREEZE DRIED, available in most health food stores. QUERCITIN, an extract

of grapefruit seed, has also been shown to be of particular value.
