hi Vivian,

I just wanted to answer so you know your post has been read, however I don't use borax alone except for hair and I use it right away so can't know if it would have stuff in it if I would let it sit......I have no idea what it is....does it happen all the time? I use a container of borax with some soap chips, a bit of lemon, a bit of iodine in water to wash dishes at sink.....so even if it stays out a while the iodine keeps it sterilized. I add some as needed. I believe it's one drop of iodine per cup of water.
