Guest guest
I am brand new to this site, I have been reading most of the post since I joined the group. I live in Tallahassee, Florida and I am home on medical leave due to a sick building issue. back in March I started have severe headaches (migraines) lets see I had about 16 migraines in about a 3 week period. I have rashes today on my legs, I had sinus infections for about three to four months back to back. I couch continue from the post nasal drip from the sinus infections. I lost so much sleep and just really became runned down due to all of it. One night I coughed so hard that I actually through my lower back out, then I could not hardly walk for about three days. After my back got better my neck started burning, stinging, numbness and like a electrical current running through my should blades etc. I went to the doctor again complaining about my nect etc. Keep in mind my work made me file a worker's comp claim when my GP doctor asked that I be moved from this building ASAP! I went to four worker's comp doctors in these fly by night walk in places, they all said I need to see a Neurologist/NSG. but my worker's comp adjuster called me a liar and said it is impossible to hurt my back coughing. she refused to send me to a doctor. So after weeks of suffering from headaches etc I went back to my GP doctor and he did a MRI on my neck then sent me to a NSG on my primary insurance (HMO). the NSG did some more MRI's on the rest of my spine because of me complaining etc. They found what you call a syrinx. a cavity filled with CSF (spinal fluid) I had surgery to insert a syringosubacnoid shunt (did not spell right). My Neurologist just yesterday dictated on tape that he believed this very well could have been cause from working in the sick building. the cavities can be progressed from coughing and sneezing and straining etc. Now I have to live with this the rest of my life and more than likely will be having several more surgeries in my life to repair and replace the shunts etc. this means they will be cutting my spinal cord again and again more than likely. This is my story and I am open for any suggestions on how to get worker's comp to except this claim etc. If any of you have and advise I would love to here it so maybe I can pass it on to my lawyers etc. Thanks so much for reading this and any help you may have in advance. ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna Custer Sent: Saturday, August 10, 2002 9:52 AM Subject: Re: Re[4]: [] Air quality How do I post to this site?
