Guest guest
There was a message in the past month or two from someone who had problems when they tried vasopressin spray. Immunopro does seem to be helping my DI a little. Trina alwaysacutie2u <jgstev716@...> wrote: HI All, I was fortunate to watch the discovery channel tonight, the series on " Mysterious Diagnosis. " They hightlighted diabetes insipidus. This can be controlled with the hormone Vasopressin, which can be obtained as a prescription. (Inhaled.) This really hit home with me. I am thisty all day. Any problems with this treatment with someone who has CFS??? Thank you all in advance, Janet This list is intended for patients to share personal experiences with each other, not to give medical advice. Guest guest
Hi, Janet. It's a little tricky to get the dose right, and it's important to monitor the blood serum level of sodium when using DDAVP (desmopressin), because it can go low, and too low is very bad for the brain (makes it swell up because of osmotic absorption of water). But DDAVP usually will cut down on the urine volume, the dehydration, the low blood volume that feeds POTS and OH, and the thirst. Less getting up at night to urinate. Ultimately, I agree with . Getting the glutathione up will restore the normal secretion of arginine vasopressin (antidiuretic hormone). Guest guest
, I do not know anything about diabetes insipidus but there is a food recipe that can help your Mom' condition ..... go to Trader Joe and buy a couple packs of oat bran, cook a large bowl by adding water and milk (use soy milk if she cannot take milk). Try it for a few days and you can see amazing result on the constipation problem. You can add fruit or honey or blue berry to make it tasty. If it works, spread the word to other people who has a need for it.
