Donna,

I think that most of individuals exposed to toxic mold end up being improperly treated for many ailments. My co-workers and I have suffered and been bounced to various specialists who all treat the symptoms but not the causative agent.

After I had dealt with two years of unbearable sinus pain behind the eyes, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, etc. I had sinus surgery three years ago.Immediately post op developed severe cough(dry),hoarseness, and acid reflux only after I had fallen into a deep sleep.Diagnosed and treated for H-Pylori had gastroscopy to diagnose GERD.Earlier had flunked a stress EKG as could not breath.Told by the cardiologist to "come back when I could breath".Saw a neurologist for headaches, etc, etc.

Two years ago after increasing shortness of breath finally diagnosed with asthma.Aftet a year of treatment I asked for allergy testing to find out what the heck is happening. Was HIGHLY sensitized to many molds. The allergist could not figure that out.Thought I should get rid of my houseplants but I told him I was fine at home.

Finally, this past winter I demanded that the chronic water intrusion(flooding) in the locker room at work be addressed.Testing was done to prove to me that everything was OK and lo & behold MOLD was found, many species including Stachy.Took me 5 months to get the results and repeated badgering to Administration.I have now been chastised for pursuing this and alerting my co-workers who have also been very sick. There are 4 probably more others with asthma, many with chronic sinusitis, frequent pneumonia of many, fibromylagia, hepatitis. The one diagnosed with hepatitis was transferred out and now is symptom free and liver function tests are normal.

Administration is still denying a problem saying that the air samples are all fine!We are furious.I put an L & I claim in which they scoffed at. My concern for my co-workers was that they all have been only treated for the symptoms not the cause.
