You can test for RA, through blood testing. Osteoarthritis you can not test for in your blood. It should be fairly simple to discover if someone is suffering from RA or Lyme Arthritis. My LLMD always ran RA blood tests on me, since RA is so prevalent in my family. I had arthritis feelings the entire time I had lyme. Guest guest
Connie: The predisposition to rheumatoid arthritis runs in families. If you have HLA-DR4, you are six times more likely than someone else to develop rheumatoid arthritis - and if you have one other HLA type, you are also more likely to develop it. Does lyme arthritis always clear up when the lyme does, never to return? Rheumatoid arthritis can go away when a particular trigger does, and take many years to return. I can remember my grandmother with all knotted up fingers from the severe rheumatoid arthritis. Its so disfiguring. It also can effect vital organs of the body. Guest guest
I am pretty sure taht rheumatoid arthritis varies widely in what course it takes. But I don't think that the treatment that was used on my grandmother has ever been widely tried. It could be something like allergy shots, though. They work differently on differnet people. Guest guest
Key here is the word erosive damage. Before that occurs, what you have is acute inflammation. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY JOINTS DUE TO lYME OFF AND ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS. At one time in 9/01 I almost could not walk and that is when I learned I had Lyme disease since 1994. The above named products would always provide me with immediate relief. I currently take them as a maintenance supplement as I have absolutely no problems with my joints at this time. For any of you who do not take vitamins, I also recommend a heavy dose if you have Lyme disease. A good source is Swanson Vitamins. You can call them on the telephone at 1-800-437-4148. They will send you a catalogue free. I do not have any affilitation with any vitamin company and as Gable said in Gone with the Wind, " ly my dear I don't give a damm " , whether you believe me or not. I only pass this information on as this vitamin company can save you about 50% compared with any vitamin store. > All my best wishes Sidney > > > > >

Guest guest
Hi Art, I found a couple on one is RA Factor, the other is Arthritis_and_Fibro_The_Simple_Solution. There are also a few others that mention RA in their description. I'll check them out when I have time. I wonder if any of those folks know about LDN. When it starts working for me I will be a loud advocate for sure! Guest guest
is right. I’m doing very well. It was a year on LDN in December and I continue to improve. I did, however, also go on an antibiotic protocol a few months into the LDN, and this has really turned me around. The LDN was helpful but it alone can’t do the job of combating the bacterial causes of RA. After about 6 weeks on LDN with nice progress I began to flare, and that caused to search further. You can look me up on the message board and see my posts about this, with the realizations I came to etc. My progress thus far: Huge reduction in pain and inflammation. Back to wearing my wedding ring, which I couldn’t wear for years. My fingers look normal most of the time now. Still have some pain in my hip and occasional pain elsewhere, but I’d say the reduction is at least 90%. Off all other meds, including Celebrex and Plaquenil. Occasional Tylenol, about what a “normal” person would use. I recommend any of you who have RA look into the antibiotic protocol at roadback.org. LDN alone will not do the trick if you have bugs causing your RA, which I now believe is the case for just about everyone. Guest guest
Hi Art, Dr. Braly in the book Dangerous Grains says gluten is a cause of auto-immune diseases and specifically talks about RA. Don't know if my arthritis pain is RA, but, being gluten free for 13 straight days now, I no longer have pain in my fingers in the middle of the night/early am. I have been using ldn since Nov.12, 2008 and have had pain all along, but, I am working on getting rid of candida overload as well. You might want to look into gluten sensitivity/celiac disease.
