Guest guest
Ted, I’ve been on LDN for RA for over a year and have posted pretty extensively about it. The short answer is yes, it can really help. I’m doing great. I’m off all other meds except for Minocin, which I take for my RA. Never took Humira or Metho, but was on prednisone, naprosyn, etc in the past. When I started LDN I was on Plaquenil and Celebrex, and I’m now off those completely. Please search the message file for this group and find my posts, and you’ll see how I’ve done with it. I’d prefer not to repeat the whole story again when the info is available elsewhere. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Art I just joined this group as a friend from US told me about LDN. My husband who is Swiss has primary progressive MS for about 10 years now and I am always looking for better treatment for him. He is not on any medication now as his neurologist prescribed chemotherapy to lower his immune system as treatment. Somehow I dont think that is such a good idea. So now only physio theraphy, low saturated fat diet, moderate exercise plus some supplements. None of the neurologists we visited here would give us a presciption for LDN so we cant seem to get it here in Singapore. Anyone has any suggestions how we can get it? Many thanks for any advise you can give. Regards, phine [low dose naltrexone] Re: Rheumatoid Arthritis Nonie,You have me mixed up with someone else. Guest guest
My neighbor has rheumatoid arthritis REALLY badly. It drove her early retirement and she is now intermittently in a wheel chair. The only thing she has found to improve her condition, at all, is intravenous antibiotics. > > Anyone here had noticeable help taking LDN with Rheumatoid Arthritis? > > > > I am on Humira, Methotrexate, prednisone, naprosyn, etc. (You know. the > gamut)...... Guest guest
Art, Thank you very much for your info below. We will try to get in touch with Dr Sullivan for a prescription. With a presciption I will found out if I can get LDN here or perhaps order online. Do you recommend starting with 3mg or 4.5mg ? phine [low dose naltrexone] Re: Rheumatoid Arthritis> > > Nonie,> > You have me mixed up with someone else. Guest guest
Art, What is the best filler for LDN; I'm comparing different pharmacies.Thank youHaifaFrom: Art Hansen <rtee54@...>Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Re: Rheumatoid Arthritislow dose naltrexone Date: Thursday, February 12, 2009, 10:10 AM There are some here who recommend starting at 1.5mgs, then if there are no problems after one month to move up to 3mgs and then after one month to 4.5mgs which is the optimal adult dosage. I started at 3mgs and went to 4.5mgs one month later. I feel I could have started at 4.5mgs as my only negative side-effect was a slight sleep disturbance which quickly went away. I think the important thing is to get to 4.5mgs and at least give that a good try for a while. Take LDN every night between the hours of 9pm and 3am. This must NEVER be used with an LDN capsule as it will cause a slow release into the system and LDN must release fast. The other fillers, such as Lactose, Avicel, non-dairy/non-refrigera te Acidophilus and Gelatin are fine, if you're not allergic to them.Art>> Art, > What is the best filler for LDN; I'm comparing different pharmacies.> > Thank you> Haifa

Guest guest
Hi ; It is Marla who has the chronic heartburn. I have tried apple cider vinergar.....but never oil...I know that the nexium diminishes the hydrochloric acid, that we need as we age for digestion. It seems that I am in just a real catch 22 with the heartburn . I do not beleieve that bread or rice aggravate the heartburn. Have you actually tried the oil before or after a meal? Guest guest
Marla: I use it all the time. Dr. Prouch recommended it to me many years ago. Make sure it is First Cold Press (which is from the first pressing of the olives) I never by anything else but First Cold Press. Take one tablespoon; and that should do it. I used to take it 3 times a day after every meal. Please post how you made out. Incidenteially you can chase it with anything coke, ginger ale or fruit. Guest guest
I only use it when I feel it come on. Many people use Apple Cider Vinegar on a daily basis and it is good for you for many other reasons as well. I used Nexium (the little purple pill) for about 1 year. It did seem to work, but not immediately like with Apple Cidar Vinegar. It would only work if I took it daily. I was told that you could also use freshly squeezed lemon juice with water and it should also work. That is also good for your digestion. Like everything else, you won't know until you give it a go. All my best, Aletha
Guest guest
Just a coment about heart burn, mistakenly people think it's too much acid and start taking anti-acid med. Most people get heart heart burn due to lack of stomach acid and taking HCL with meals would help. Consult a good alternative med doctor to make sure. Guest guest
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis early 2010. Now I take nebrel which works well but my inflammation levels measured by CRP (normal is from 0-4,9) is around 20 (which is down from 34, pre-enbrel). I read that statins (cholesterol lowering meds) can reduce CRP levels significantly. Has anyone taking a statin to lower his or her CRP level?
