I am new to this group but having a bad time with my State Farm

Insurance adjuster. Nearly everything the remediation contractor

(ones that SFI recommended)entered into their bid, the adjuster want

to throw out.

I live in a very rural community in Southeast Texas.

Our home was dignossed with mold in October 2001 by a State Farm

testing contractor with several forms of mold and very high in

content. Our home is 3600 square feet and the test shows that

approximately 80% of the inside will require some remediation. The

contractor estimate is $197,000. State Farm says they want to settle

for $90,000. Long way off!

Our attorney advised that we work with them one more time and if no

results, then he will take them to court.

We are living in a motor home that we had to purchase, having to

shell out the $10,000 (out of our savings) and they are paying the

monthly note of $890. Many others in our area are living in rent

complexs with insurance paying $2500 - $3000. Our adjuster said that

they could not pay the downpayment. There is no rental property in

our area and I must live in this county for my job.

Is anyone else having trouble with their State Farm adjuster? Any

suggestions? Comments?

My wife and I both get sick when we enter our beautiful home. I have

extremely bad alergies and it is causing my wife migranes.

We are on our second adjuster. Our first adjuster said we would be

better off if we just " torched " the house. What a dummy!

Maybe congress should investigate the dealings of insurance companies.
