Guest guest
http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/stories/2002/07/22/daily66.html July 26, 2002 Hilton asks mold-cleaning employees to get check-ups Hilton Hawaiian Village and Local 5 of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union, currently facing off on contract talks, are working together on the problem of mold discovered this month in the Kalia Tower. Ward, research analyst for Local 5, told Pacific Business News late Thursday that the union had submitted an informational request to Hilton to find out everything Hilton knows about the mold situation, and was told Hilton is asking employees who worked in the Kalia Tower to go to Queen's Health Center for a check-up. The union indicated that it was too soon to judge how well the hotel has handled the unusual situation. Hilton this week moved all guests out of the Kalia Tower, which has about 400 rooms, and flew a team of experts on mold in buildings to Hawaii from Atlanta to figure out how mold can develop in numerous rooms in a building that is only about a year old.
