Guest guest
NTMC newsbrief,June,21,2002 It appears that Missouri is under the gun again. Bart Yowell, Nally, and Redmon amongst others, have lung damage from the Jasper, Missouri, Plant: Gilster- Lee which produces Microwave Popcorn. Evidently while suits are pending one employee has lost 80% of her lung capacity. You say, what is it? Apparently it is the butter flavoring in the air at the plant. Some say it even produces a yellow cloud at night over the building. Over 30 workers are involved with servere breathing problems. Doctors have diagnosed this " new illness " as irreversible and lethal damage, with expectations to be placed on the lung transplant list. To some who have MCS and Environmental illness this doesn't seem so " new. " Just as we thought it couldn't get much worse, it does. This case proves to open the eyes of the workplace Hazards and to bring in Osha and Niosh for stricter regulations. When profit is important, does human life become less valuable. Evidently...who couldn't have known the outcome?
