Guest guest
Connie, yes chlorine bleach kills HCV. If blood dries and is then wet again, the virus is reactivated. I would not share combs or hairbrushes because one could have a slight pimple or sore on the head that could bleed minutely into the comb. Guest guest
Speaking of bleach, does anyone know the proper ratio/time for the clorox-water bath used to remove pesticides from non-organically-grown vegetables? Any help in this would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. JC

I use the microwave - with the Easysprouters, fill the sprouter with clean water, heat it up for about 4 minutes and that hot water kills off any bacteria without any chemicals. I let it sit for a few minutes, then drain off the near-boiling water and let the parts dry completely before sprouting again, that's how I " Sterilize " things. Guest guest
I had a swimming pool and used it instead of chlorine also as they did at an amusement park in Atlanta for many years Whitewater I think it was called. You would need to get large quantities locally you can search on the internet for small quantities if you rather buy it a gallon or so at the time....just a small amount will do in the washing machine....add about 1/2 of what your clorox dispenser will take. it will eat up your clothes if you use too much eventually (but then so will clorox lol I guess) you shouldn't need it all that often most people dont use clorox with their colors (I do use hydrogen peroxide for colors too in fact I haven't used whites since 1993 when I started with Dr. and I have used NOTHING but BORAX since that time and didn't add peroxide until 1999 - you can also fill your dispenser with white vinegar which is great in fact maybe double that amount....its even recommended by Maytag lol and of course Dr. says clean with it such as your windows etc.... Guest guest
Yes it will " burn " (STING is what I would say not burn you) but not really bad I use it to replace cleansing my hands with the everclear sometimes when they are real dirty from yard work or whatever and if I am preparing food etc if you have sensitive skin or tender skin maybe be more careful and after scrubing them with borax it just stings but helps purify my hands. ( clorox will burn you also lol so handle it accordingly - although I feel clorox is worse personally ) By the way on the water distiller I did not use Mr. 's plastic 5 gallon water jug.... I use a 5 gallon glass jug which I believe is the lesser of the 2 evils - my body does not like plastic. You can usually find them on ebay or sometimes if the pottery barn type places locally. Guest guest
I pour peroxide over all of my hands lol ....it stings in the finger nails for me sometimes VERY much if I have cut my nails too short or something however it does NOT leave BURNS as in a fire is what I was trying to point out lol. run cold water over your hands and the STING is gone. Occasionally it will leave a white space here and there but so what???? I don't care! lol No, I use J C 's distiller that he makes himself for people and it pours into a container of your choice - he sells 5 gallon plastic ones of some type however I prefer the glass ones so I bought my 5 gallon glass jug for the water to pour into as it is being made in Jc's distiller. The 5 gallon jug has NOTHING to do with MAKING the water, it HOLDS the water that is being made which in my case usually last me about a week or more usually. Jc's telephone number is 724-287-5555 if you would like to talk with him about his distiller...it first evaporates some of the impurties in an open chamber into the air as the water is hot --- then it goes into the distiller enclosed chamber....and let him tell you about all that if you like. As far as my soap recommendations for washing clothes that someone requested again. First of all if you possibly can get a front loading machine not a top loading machine... thats the most important thing regardless of what you use to wash them with Then the front loading machines are suppose to take less soap however I put 1 FULL HEAPING measuring cup full of BORAX in my Front loader machine. Years ago when I had a TOP loader machine, I put in 2 heaping cups of BORAX in my top loader. If you feel you need " clorox " then I substitute a little Hydrogen Peroxide 35% and I use about 1/2 of what my bleach dispenser in my machine will hold unless they are really grungy and need clorox bad and then I put all that my bleach dispenser will hold except I once again use 35% hydrogen peroxide never ever clorox....If I don't feel that hydrogen peroxide (or clorox) is needed for what I am washing I fill my bleach dispenser with WHITE vinegar and if Im around pour in about that same amount to make it twice the amount my dispenser will hold. Guest guest
How long is your wash cycle? If the wash cycle goes for more than 10 min (depending on the hardness of your water). When the cleaning agents break down, the gray dinge appears and " washes into the clothes " . And then we put them in the dryer and bake them in. Personally, I rinse them twice and put baking soda in the final rinse. And whenever possible, dry them outside. The sun is the best whitener. Loads of fun, june _____ I have used the borax and baking soda. We have pretty hard water here. The clothes start looking dingy and grey. Also, the staining problem. The peroxide sounded like the way to go. I had some at one time but where I got it is nolonger in business. I use a water filter for drinking water. Guest guest
, I also have to say something about bleach. My naturopathic doctor will not allow my daughter or I to even spray it in a diluted form anywhere near us. If I had been near it she could tell by testing me. It is extremely toxic to the body. Anything toxic to the body will destroy your immune system. See the problem here? All those chemicals used on a daily basis erode the already struggling immune system. Don't use bleach anywhere in your house or in your laundry. If you want to disinfect your laundry use natural Borax. That makes hydrogen peroxide in the wash. We have become so phobic about germs. Lets face it. We get sick. It is good for us to get sick once in awhile. Helps your immune system to build up antibodies. Making it stronger. I think we focus way too much on all these toxic products that weaken the immune system and help viruses to become stronger instead of just washing our hands with good old natural soap and focusing on healing/strengthening our immune systems. The more you shelter that immune system. The weaker it will get. hugs, Sue From: Carlene <carlene.grimshaw@...>Subject: Re: What Foods are High in Magnesium ? Fish; Greens; Beans; Nuts; Seeds. Guest guest
I hear you loud and clear. I was wondering though, have you tried Borax in your toilet bowl , and does it really clean as well as Bleach for that particular purpose?journeyintolife From: Carlene <carlene.grimshaw>Subject: Re: What Foods are High in Magnesium ? Fish; Greens; Beans; Nuts; Seeds.Date: Saturday, December 12, 2009, 12:52 AM Hi - So much pain for one person to go through, I really feelfor you. I'm glad you reminded me about magnesium citrate and calciumcitrate as I did take that for awhile. Even though I do eat a widevariety of foods. But just lately my feet are cramping in the toes area.So I must buy some of the magnesium/calcium product again. Like you, Ido feel gratitude whenever there is improvement. On Christmas day 1984 (big family get-together) I had my first truemigraine. Couldn't turn, bend, or even think straight, and the pain wasexcruciating. I think I had a second lesser migraine a few years later.Thankfully, besides normal headaches I have never experienced any moremigraines. The reason I'm telling you this is because I do know howpainful and dragging-down it can be. But for you to endure 4wksmigraines, and kidney stone pains must have been terrible. I'm sorry youhad to suffer so. I suppose not getting the flu is the bonus out of itall.I am concerned about you using bleach. I stopped using bleach about 8 -10yrs ago. There is the toxic smell and it is a powerful chemical. Ithink very detrimental to our health...call it a hunch if you like. Ihope you don't have to endure further migraines or unrelenting kidneypain. Take care and you are in my thoughts and prayers.Merry Christmas & Peace to you and your loved ones.Love & hugsCarlene>> I agree with you Carlene, I myself take daily magnesium citrate andcalcuim citrate which using both together usually prevents me fromhaving severe muscle spasms and cramps in my feet and calves.
