Guest guest
A: Dr Data: Sabato 15 maggio 2010, 13:33  I've used another brand before (ZAND), for cleaning my mother's dentures, and used it 3 or 4 times on the same dentures, no problem. Now I've got the 21 days program, I switched to the Dr brand one, understanding it's sure cleaner and purer. I put the dentures in hot water (not boiling yet) as usual for hardening the acrylic, left them there until cold I went ahead with the oregano oil cleaning. I left the dentures with the oregano oil resting for a couple of minutes and went for the brushing. When I grabbed them they STUCK TO MY HANDS. Whatever came out from them was DENSE PLASTIC style. I don't think it was coagulated oil. There should be nothing on the dentures to the oregano oil to react with! I removed all the sticky gum and cleaned the dentures with non-abrasive homeopathy-safe lemon toothpaste, rinsed them for a while in cold water, as I was used to… The dentures are now MATTE. The buffing is GONE. I asked my dentist if they can re-apply the lacker coating or whatever made them shinny, and they said there's no such coating. The buffing on the Acrylic itself is what makes it shine. Now, the oregano oil can be tasted 2 days away the brushing. It wasn't like that before, of course, the dentures weren't porous! So… if there's no clear layer on the dentures, what did come out from the dentures? Which of the dentures materials left to let the pores there? How do I re-apply the material that was in the pores? I hope I can find an answer soon. The dentures can get stained and get more bacteria FASTER now. Thanks.
