Airsopure Machine Helping Mold Victims

For the last two years, we have been telling you about the surge in black

mold claims across Texas. Now there may be a machine that could make a

difference.

Homeowners have spent thousands of dollars to restore their houses, and

treat mold-induced health problems. With the average mold claim costing

$47,000, insurance carriers, like Farmers Insurance have recently stopped

writing policies for new customers who have made any claims in the past

three years.

For Tim , the saga started with a vent. " I was painting a bedroom

and I took out a vent to paint under it, " he says. " When I took the vent

out, I saw something growing up there. "

That something was mold.

" I had gone to the doctor and spent thousands of dollars, because I thought

I had migraine headaches, " continues.

Farmers Insurance agent Jim White says the problem affects insurance

carriers as much as it is consumers. " If you look back to 1999 in Texas, we

had 12 mold claims filed against Farmers Insurance, " says White. " Through

the first quarter of this year, we've had over 12,000 mold claims filed. "

" We're in the business to make profit. We're not a utility company. We're

not here to lose money, and be supported by the taxpayers. If we can't make

a profit, we will get out of the business. "

Since plugging in his Airsopure machine, says the difference has

been remarkable. " It sterilizes the air, " he says. " It doesn't clean the

air, it doesn't filter the air, it doesn't have electronics, it sterilizes

the air. "

The Airsopure machine uses an ultraviolet lightbulb that magnifies the light

thousands of times to sterilize the air it circulates.
