GATEWAY: Mosside opening delayed

Students at Mosside Elementary School will have to attend classes elsewhere

for the first two months of the school year because of a leaky roof and

mold.

Mosside was closed in February because of the mold problem and probably will

remain closed until the end of October, according to Superintendent

Domencic.

The district had planned to reopen the building on Aug. 27.

Domencic told parents last night that mold levels still were unacceptably

high in one classroom and in a boys' restroom.

Rain leaked through the building's new roof Monday, causing damage to

hallway carpeting and a restroom.

Students in kindergarten and first grade will take their classes at

University Park Elementary School. Students in grades 2, 3 and 4 will have

classes at Moss Side Middle School.
