Guest guest
Again, I get emails saying Conyers has submitted Toxic Mold legislation yesterday. I was sent to his Congressional web site. This morning, I searched the Conyers web site and there is nothing about Toxic Mold Legislation. His most recent issues are about voters rights and racial profiling. As I have repeatedly said, Legislation is submitted to the Clerk of the US House of Representatives and as of late yesterday afternoon nothing came from Conyers or anything dealing with Toxic Mold. Discussing potential Legislation at news conferences over a three week time frame is not submitting legislation. If you think this is submitting Legislation you don't understand how our Government works. While the news conferences bring our stories to the public, it does nothing to submit anything. For those that travel the Conyers national news conference route, only three came and spoke about Toxic Mold Legislation in Massachusetts. Only a few, mostly from HADD, wrote any letters of support to Massachusetts Legislatures. Why are your voices silent? As many know, I have been trying to get a Federal Toxic Mold Bill submitted in Congress for several months. It is already written and has been put out there for all to make comments or suggestions. Where is the support for this bill? It is not a wish list but is actual Legislation in the proper form for Congress. If we are serious about helping our families doesn't it make sense to support a bill that has already been written and submitted? As I have said, it is based upon the California Mold Legislation that was passed last year. As I have said earlier, the Conyers bill, in its current wish list form will not pass due to the financial costs. Look at the economy and ask if Congress will pass a bill that has the potential of costing billions of dollars. The National Check Book is in the red. I hope and pray he has submitted something to help us that have been infected by Toxic Mold. Our families are crying for help. If he submits Legislation, I will support it if I can see it and it helps us all. If he still hasn't he does us all a disservice. For Toxic Mold Legislation to be effective it must help all of us that got our mold from insurance companies, by accident or through corrupt builders and corrupt government inspectors. It must also have accountability penalties for those that knowingly create conditions where mold might grow. Without full accountability, I will support nobodies Legislation.
