Oh My Dear Annie!! (((HUGS!)))

What a horrible shock! I am so, so very sorry for your loss!!

You must be suffering terribly and my heart is hurting for you!

I cannot imagine what a trauma that must have been to you to find

your friend this way. I wish I could hug you and cry with you.

You are a strong woman, you've made it through the memorial, all the

busy work and now I'm sure the void in your life and in your home is

tremendous!

I'm praying for you Annie...I'm praying right now.

Know that God is holding you, his child, in the palm of His hand and

you can let go. Feel His love and comfort and let Him calm your

fears, may His mercy and grace surround you Annie.

Oh I wish I were just a little bit closer to where you are and I'd

find a way to get to you. I don't know what I could say or do to

help you but just to be there and listen so you weren't feeling so

lonely, but I am here...is there something that I can do for you?

I pray you feel some peace soon sweetie, I know things seem dark now.

Love and Hugs!

Debbie

Annie, It'll be ok. When someone dies unexpectedly like that. That is

a shock and a trauma. Dont be hard on yourself... Let yourself feel

bad. That is normal to feel greif and horror. I'll say a prayer for

you. Hang in there. we're all thinking of you. love cindy

Anne, I am so sorry to hear this. Of course we will pray for you and

your friend. While you may be physically alone, I know you are very

spiritually grounded from your post. You know you have the Lord on

your side, this group, and your church fellowship. Perhaps your

church can pair you up with someone or more than one to be there for

you to help you through this. Our Church provided me with what they

call a 's Minister after my operations. It is a layperson who

has gone through training and is there to help others through a rough

time. Mine was invaluable and really kept me going. My you feel the

warm touch of God's arms around you at this time of need. Love, Dave

Another option when using cheese cloth is to put a rubber band (or

two, if they're super thin ones) around the jar mouth. It gets held in

place by the screw threads of the glass and holds the cheesecloth in

place just fine. And it fits a multitude of jar sizes. :-)

A good way to go. Make your cheesecloth as small as possible because it

get soaking wet when rinsing sprouts.

Most grocery stores stock the rings and lids in the canning section. The

small lids fit all regular size mason jars and the large lids fit all

wide mouth mason jars.

I need some help

Date: Mon, 11 May 2009 00:58:48 -0000

Hi All!!

I need some replacement metal rings for my smaller mason jars. On

Sproutpeople.com they sell these for $.35 each, or the plastic ones

for more money.

I am trying to make sure that these replacement rings will fit my

smaller mason jars (not the big ones). I have enough rings and mesh

for my big mason jars.

The reason I don't have enough for the smaller ones, is because I

have more jars than rings.

I get special soups that are in the exact same type jars as the small

mason jars. So I use these clear glass soup things to make my

sprouts. I have the bottom, BUT NO RINGS. I originally bought 6

smaller mason jars so of course I have 6 rings to screw on with my

screen inserts.

And I getter MUCH better results sprouting when I use the quart size

mason jars, than when I use the 2 quart mason jars. but the ring size

is different.

So can someone please let me know if the screw on replacement rings

that are sold on Sproutpeople, well, will these fit my one quart

mason jars (and my soup containers?)

Thanks much

Melody

Stainless steel does not rust. If you have rust, they are made of a

different material.

Melody,

When I have used my quart jar, with cheese cloth, I just used regular

canning jar rings I purchased at Wal-Mart. Do you have screens for

the

regular mouth jars. Where did you get the regular size screens.

Also, I have pretty much decided I do not like the stainless steel

rings,

they rust to fast. I will be replaceing with plasting rings when I

can.

I made all my own screens. I just bought a few feet of stainless steel mesh at

my local hardware store. I cut them to fit the jars, and VOILA!!! I made rings.

I just might do the cheesecloth thing. I'll also do a google search on Canning

Jar rings. I wasn't sure what they were called. I was calling them mason jar

lids, mason jar screw caps, etc.

Now I know they are canning jar rings.

lol

Melody

And thanks much to all of you who answered me.

Wow I will try to make my own screens. Any wal-mart, kroger, grocery store

should have them. They would be with canning supplies. Usually on the same

isle as baking supplies at the grocery, in the bakeware area of wal-mart.

They should not be very expensive.

I've not seen stainless steel rings. The rings that they sell in the stores

near the jars are not stainless. (Neither are the ones at . The

mesh screens are, but not the rings). I prefer the plastic ones.

Melody- the rings at are designed to fit what is called " wide

mouth " jars. But you can go to a hardware store, in the canning section,

and find the ones for " regular " sized jars. Sometimes grocery stores have

them too, but usually in season (fall).

I have discovered that my Krogers and Publix apparently keep canning

supplies year round.

I have a 10 year old child who is developing asthma. I really don't know a

great deal about the subject. I would appreaciated all the information I can

get. I'm looking for some good web-sites or books on the topic. I'm also looking

for a good support group in the Cleveland area. So as to not cause too much

clutter, I'll take all responses off line. Thank you very much.  Sam

I'm new to this forum and while I've never dealt with asthma, I have

dealt with severe sinus allergy issues most of my life. It is my

understanding that allergies are the root cause of both sinus issues and

asthma.

What worked for me was following a very strict diet based on my blood

type by Dr. D'Adamo. He has a very good website

One big problem with foods that cause issues is that it can take up to 4

days for a problem to manifest itself. By the time you have the

reaction it's very difficult to associate it with the actual culprit.

I would definitely avoid all the major known causes of allergy issues

such as wheat, corn and soy for at least 4 days. Should symptoms

disappear you will have at least a major source of the problem

identified. After foods have been avoided and you want to reintroduce

only do so one item at a time and wait a minimum of four days before

reintroducing the next item. Obviously should symptoms reappear upon

reintroduction you should consider that food as a toxin and avoid it.

This should go without saying but definitely make sure the child is not

consuming any processed foods.

I'm new to Dr. 's work and am anxiously waiting my Digital Zapper,

but I would not hesitate to give the asthma cure found on this page

<http://www.huldaclarkzappers.com/frequency1.html> a try.

Good luck Sam -
