Guest guest
Jack, Maybe you can answer these questions. The times has reported on many stories that have nothing to do with Cape Cod. Many stories come from the newswires rather than from Times reporters. In 1992 and 1993 when I first contacted news staff at the times, was the PUBLIC RECORDS FROM BARNSTABLE detailing illegal construction and allegations of payoffs and bribes news and information that Cape citizens should have known about. The bribes had nothing to do with us or our situation. Why did it take almost ten years for a part of the story to be told? You can use the terms alleged if you want but when it is town, police and state public documents that tell it why not say where the information comes from instead of saying Ken Moulton said. You are free under Absence of malice. You know what happened to Kenny in 1995 when he was dropped at school by their staff member, his teeth were broken and mouth and lips were bleeding. You also know he was not allowed to see any medical staff by the school. This is also in a State report. The times said it was our allegations and, I don't think, ever mentioned the findings of the state report which is a State official document. The times also never told how the Town didn't want Kenny to be seen by the jury and Kenny was the victim. Did that appear in the article? I don't recall. Remember Kenny was the VICTIM! Kenny was injured in school on March 3, 1995. Your newspaper didn't tell anything until 6 years later even though we gave the times all of the government records. Don't you think Cape citizens should have known what happened to Kenny in 1995 instead of having to wait 6 years? Maybe other children had the same thing happen? Of course Kenny was perhaps no big deal because he is retarded and is in a wheelchair. He can't talk so who cares? If you remember the first time we meant in June 2000, I told of the town corruption and challenged the times and other Cape news media to inform the people of what their government is doing. It took the times 2 more years to decide we were news worthy. If news people want to be considered professional and be in the big leagues they must act so, not just when it gets them ratings or suits their purpose. If the Times had told what the Public Record Documents told of Barnstable corruption concerning us and other families, in 1993, how much suffering could have been avoided? Forget that you are a reporter and answer as if it were your family or children being effected. Try wearing my shoes for a day, you couldn't keep up. I've removed you from my mail so good luck to you and the times in whatever you decide to let the people know. Ken
