Guest guest
Janet, Virginia and I are Members of the Board of Directors of NTMC. We are also Co-presidents of HADD (homeowners against defecient dwellings) for MA, Ct, RI, NH and New York. We have been trying to get politicians and doctors educated about the effects and causes of Toxic Mold. In most cases it is like talking to a brick wall. I have written state and federal Toxic Mold laws as well as construction lemon laws. I have also written a federal requirement of holding bad builders and government inspectors liable if hey build or allow unsafe or unhealthy construction. People that are suffering from Toxic Mold or unsafe homes due to substandard construction need to write to me so I can send your complaints on to the state and federal politicians. I received letters from the White House dated Sept. 11, 2001 and Sept. 10, 2002 in which the President told the EPA and HEW to investigate my issues. The Vice-President told HUD to become involved. Maybe somebody will finally listen. Ken > Eileen > > thanks its not till oct 28 ans I am scared at what this joke of a doctor is > going to do to hurt my OWCP claim. Guest guest
Janet, I just saw my ENT today for a post-op visit. I had to have my maxillary sinus reopened two weeks ago because the opening had been scarred shut after my sinus surgery three years ago. My sinus was full of Staph Aureus(heavy growth) and he is still waiting for the fungal reports. He is very concerned about the calcific changes in my sinus. Four years ago when all of this started I had horrific pain in the right sinus especially behind the eye. I felt as if a knife was digging around in there. Every time I saw a Doctor it would be after a few days at home when I was out on sick time.XRays--CT and MRI did not show anything. MY ENT even sent me to a neurologist because of my symptoms. Finally I was working with him in surgery when I was again symptomatic. He immediately sent me for a CT scan which just showed mucosal thickening which indicated an allergic response. That was what justified my surgery three years ago. This past time I had no facial symptoms just severe hoarseness at work. A coworker also had similar history, surgery 4 yrs ago, etc. She saw same Doc on same day as me for same symptom--hoarseness.We both also have newly diagnosed asthma. She ended up with a laryngoscopy last week. She had large clusters of what looked like mozzarella cheese in her throat. Definitely does not belong there. I tried to transfer to a sister hospital to no avail. I am still working through the disability claims. I am a manager so do not have union backing. Would not matter as the union at this hospital is doing nothing. Everyone is afraid of this hospital administration. I guess I am too mad to be afraid. My next step is to seek legal advice. It is very hard to sue a place of work but another coworker has sued and won in three levels of court--next step supreme court of Wa.state.She has Hep. C and has proof that it is work related. She is among three that have Hep. C in my department. I am also trying to find another job but wary of an unknown entity. Heaven help if I went to another place with mold. Guest guest
Eileen, I am so sorry you are doing this too. I too have bad pain in right sinus alot. I see ENT today and he IS goinng to help me out of this jam he sent me into. I am still reacting to these high dosage tests .I will not lelave tillhe writes something for me for owcp claim that he does NOT agree and reccommends an Environmental dr. This joker did say I have increased thickening in my sinusees from last two cat scans but that NO ONE gets sick from Toxic Mold. I made an appt. wit an environmental dr. on Portland Maine for Oct. 28. A doctor Joesph Py. He was listed in resoucrces on Mold-Help website. I know its in my sinus. I have environmental report shipyard covered up and I am getting sdicker and more hypersesitive. Again I wish you the best..and appreciate the info you are sharing with me. Like I said, if YOU hadnt...I would have wound up in a mental hospital after this Dr. Long not knowing what to do next. Thank you, Janet
Guest guest
How did they get that from work - related if you don't mind me asking? Is it because of mold? Guest guest
The person who has won in her court battle did have documented proof of a needlestick at work thus was able to pursue legally. We did not have proof on the mold until I badgered the administration last winter to get testing and then it took 5 months to get results. Another coworker had been relocated 2 years ago for Hepatitis because the Doc was not sure what was going on but knew it was building related.L & I still has not paid her claim but she has been symptom free for two years and her liver function tests are back to normal. The third person with Hep C just had a laparoscopic appendectomy a few weeks ago.One week post-op he was back in the OR after complaining of severe pain and difficulty breathing.Prior to surgery he had also complained of severe shortness of breath. He was reexplored in surgery and major "pus"pockets found at each incision site. Two days later he had a thoracoscopy(Lung surgery with Scope visualization) to remove pus in lungs and a week later another operation for removal of more pus in lungs or as we say in medicine--empyema. Maybe none of these are mold related but we also have many with chronic sinusitis and my secretary is now out with another bout of pneumonia. Guest guest
Ken, I saw my ENT today who sent me to Dr. Long. I am still severely reacting to his high dose testing . My ENT here has put me on a med dose pack to calm down symptoms and i had so much pressure from it in my ear drum I am also starting a cotizone steroid drops for a severe ear infection. Dr. felt very badly and said this high dosage testing gets into your muscles. The man could have killed me. I told him Dr. Long is sending my workmans comp claim a report of no mold allergy. My ENT dictated into his microphone that he is treating me for severe muscle allergy reaction and ear infection due to this testing and he finds Dr. Longs testing and diagnosis erronious and horrible. That I am to see an Environmental Dr. of my choice as he feels I am hypersensitive to ,mmold due to SBS> Copy to patient to send to her workmans comp claim. I am so sick from Dr. Long. I will call him tomorrow and tell him he will be hearing from my attorney. Then I will tell the shipyard that if it wasnt for them, I wouldnt be going throogh this. I also have seators involved as well now in Maine and will write them too. This man in Boston is a quack and almost a murderer. Guest guest
In my opinion, Dr. Long does not belong in the Medical profession. He hurts the good doctors.
