Guest guest
Our mobile home was pitset by the the mobilehome owners when we moved in without our knowledge that this was going to be done. When we arived with our mobile in October 1981 the lot had a hole in it and we were told that we it would be pitset or we could go down the road. The ground is subirrigated and the owners insisted that we set the mobile down so low that we could not ventilate properly, nor was there was any provisions to properly drain the water away from the pit. Now as a result we have toxic mold under the mobile and it is coming up though the floors and into the walls. The mobile is no longer structurely safe nor is it safe to move or even to get under to check the blocking. The skirting is caving in and even more water is getting the pit. I would advise anyone that is living a pitset mobilehome to check out the condition of the home and for toxic mold. I would advise anyone that is moving in a mobilehome park not to let anyone demand you pitset the mobile, and to find out before you rent a mobilehome lot to make sure they are not pitsetting the home. I you are buying a mobile on it's own lot make sure if it is pitset the home is sitting on a concrete slab and has a concrete foundation that is sealed and has proper drainage.
