Guest guest
This is a copy of the Congressional Petition theNational Toxic Mold Coalition is presenting tocongress: CONGRESSIONAL PETITION REQUESTING CONGRESSIONALGRANT FUNDS FOR VICTIM SERVICES TO TOXIC MOLD VICTIMSTHROUGH THE NATIONAL TOXIC MOLD COALITION ANDFOUNDATION AUGUST 26, 2002 Herein, The National Toxic Mold Coalition andFoundation, P.O. Box 923, Ozark, Missouri 65721,approach Congress with this request to allocateCongressional grant funds for victim services. * Victims are being displaced and made homeless for long and short periods of time. They need help with relocation funds on a temporary basis until they can secure a permanent place to live. * Many victims have no known insurance coverage for property damage due to Toxic Mold Exposures. * The National Toxic Mold Coalition receives hundreds of requests for help and aid from victims of toxic mold exposure. * The Coalition houses a data bank of research and victim requests. * There is no other organization uniformily helping victims, while flooding, and leaks have caused major damage for homeowners throughout the United States and abroad. * Insurance Companies have complained of not being able to pay the claims for Toxic Mold, often delaying payment until victims are homeless. Grant funding would help to alieviate this stress for both victims and the insurance carriers. * The National Toxic Mold Coalition has Volunteer Directors in over 15 States to access victim needs. Directors are volunteering for 1 years renewable terms. They are already recieving requests from victims. * Health issues arising from Toxic Mold exposure range from moderate to severe. Recently our Volunteer Disaster staff and pilot reported transportation by flight of a child victim whose kidneys were in failure due to Mold exposure. * The Coalition has secured Volunteer expert remediators, physicians, and rescue responders willing to work on a sliding fee scale for victims, to help relocate, consult, and address immediate health and living needs in conjunction with other local agencies for crisis intervention. * In reality, members of NTMC, realize this is a great undertaking but is however important to stability of the economy, by quickly addressing victim problems from Toxic Mold, finding remedy, so that victims can return to the work ethnic. For the above stated reasons, The National Toxic Mold Coalition and Foundation requests congressionalor other Federal Grant funds available, to beallocated to NTMC in order that we may begin helpingvictims not only in word but deed. The future goal ofNTMC is to open an environmental clinic on a slidingscale for victims treatment by qualified physicians, and wellness providers. Please see attachment forToxic Mold definitions.
