Guest guest
Pat, I think you need to clarify your letter a little. I believe you haven't had a cold since you got away from your SBS building. I don't think the mold kills the cold virus. However, the mold initiated an allergic condition. Allergy is the overstimulation of the immune system. Perhaps this overstimulation, which causes allergic attacks even to minor levels of some offending organism, can also help fend off some illnesses once the major allergen exposure is eliminated. The low number of colds can also be simply an age thing. Over the years, we tend to build up immunity to things we have been exposed to so many times. As long as we are otherwise healthy, and no longer severely mold exposed, the colds stay away. So, you may actually get sick with other illnesses more easily, such as catching a cold whenever a friend has one. Gil, this might be a general statement or perhaps the truth for most people. Since I was exposed to mold, I haven't had a cold - 3 years now. I've had everything else, but no colds. Maybe the mold KO's the cold virus? I have had sinus infections, but not the usual cold virus. Has anyone else gone without colds since TM exposure? You could be right about that, Gil, in that my body is producing more histamines. That's one explanation. > The low number of colds can also be simply an age thing. Gil, I might be over the hill, but I don't think I'm old enough to not get colds. Only septagenarians in nursing homes don't get colds.
