Guest guest
Some of you may remember a 48 Hours TV program about 12-18 months ago on insurance " paper reviews " , the opportunity insurance companies have to go over medical records after accidents to determine the amount of medical costs to be related to the accident and the amount attributable to other causes. These reviews were handled by outside companies, often by people with little or no medical training. The reports to the insurance companies were signed by a doctor to make them look official. Needless to say, the review companies which denied the most claims, saving the casualty companies the most money, got the most business. One of those companies was owned by Dr. Gots. On network television, Dr. Gots admitted that he sometimes signed reviews without reading them, thus denying insurance claims without medical justification. Maybe that will help explain Dr. Gots' perspective on medicine and money. Keep that in mind if he is ever an expert witness against you. Mark, How are things down in Lower LA? Good answer. Now I think that what someone should do is go out and see what Mr. Gots may have said on the consumer side. I find a lot just like him who are nothing but a " hired gun. " The thing to do is find out the facts about their previous stands. Are they consistent? I had one Ph.D. who claimed my client was nothing but a disgruntled homeowner and the mold was all in their head, despite visual evidence and test conducted by her. I showed up at another case with the home owner and this same Ph.D. showed up brought in by my client's attorneys. This time it was a different story. She was ready to bring in the Bull Dozers and tear the house down. Now I had thought the first house was in worse condition (she said not) and the second was not. I have both of these situations on Video Tape. I showed the tape of the first house to the attorneys. They realized if I had a tape, the defense in the case could very well maybe have another tape. My feeling is that you either have to be on one side or the other. Not waffling back and forth. lin Associates Licensed General Contractors B2-0048180 Construction, Real Estate & Environmental Investigations Las Vegas, Nevada Listen to lin's Construction Defects Saturdays 1:30 PM KNEWS Radio 970 AM
