Anyway, when I am super tired, immune system is down, lyme is bad and my

arms and legs are flying all over the place when I lay down, i head for the

magnesium. I was told that any infection just drains your system of mag. It

works for me.

Just my thought,

I am new to the group and have a question. Do any of you out there have

experience or know someone who has had cervical spinal stenosis surgery, that

would be laminectomies in the cervical spine and

a spinal fusion. I want to talk with anyone who has had this for FMS or CFS.

It has been recommended to me. Joyce

Hi Joyce

I had a laminectomy in January 1998 for a prolapsed disk on my sciatic

nerve. At first we hoped I might be able to avoid surgery, but the nerve

damage was increasing (pins & needles, numbness in toes, weakened response

etc) so I agreed. (People scared me and warned me not to have it, but for

me, it was the right decision). I recovered extremely well from surgery,

but put that down to being very fit at the time (I had been increasing my

fitness for a trecking trip in Tasmania - which I missed). (But it did

trigger a relapse that took me 6 months to recover from). I would think it

might be a good deal harder with active CFS at the time of surgery. (I've

had 35 yrs of CFS recurrences, but in-between relapses, I have been more or

less normal and healthy). I guess surgery in the cervical region would be

different from what I had. But if the spine is actually causing symptoms

which the surgeon believes can be 'high percentage' cured, it might be worth

giving it a go. One thing to bear in mind is that the longer the damage has

been going on, the less likely for a full recovery. (sorry!) Whatever, if

at all possible, get a second opinion. There are a lot of horror stories

out there about things going wrong, but there are also lots of good stories

about people like me, who have had at least 95% improvement. (And the bad

stories have a habit of spreading much faster than the good stories.)

Best of luck Kerry

Hi to all,

it has been a long time since I have either posted or even had a chance to

read the posts. I was just looking today and realize I don't know most of

the names anymore. I will be unsubscribing, but I wanted to send a quick

note first. For those of you that don't know me, I was diagnosed in 7/99

with autoimmune cholangits (a form of PBC) at the age of 32. At the time I

had no symptoms of liver disease, it was diagnosed from abnormal blood work.

Thank goodness for my GI doctor who just so happened to be a hepatologist. I

went on 30 mgs of prednisone, which got my bloodwork back in the normal range

and I gained 30 lbs!!! Just an update, I am now down to 10mgs (started

lowering in Feb 00) and have lost 25 of the 30 lbs!!! It seems I can't get

below 10 mgs or my bloodwork goes above normal. I had lost the full 30 lbs,

but then the holidays came along....I want to thank all of the wonderful

people in this group who were so supportive and understanding, there are way

too many to mention without leaving someone out inadvertantly.

My life has been so busy that it just doesn't allow me to take the time to

read the posts like I used to. Best of luck to all, and a happy & healthy

new year. Thanks you again,

Rancourt (AIC)

Mark,

How are things down in Lower LA?

Good answer. Now I think that what someone should do is go out and see what Mr. Gots may have said on the consumer side. I find a lot just like him who are nothing but a "hired gun." The thing to do is find out the facts about their previous stands. Are they consistent? I had one Ph.D. who claimed my client was nothing but a disgruntled homeowner and the mold was all in their head, despite visual evidence and test conducted by her. I showed up at another case with the home owner and this same Ph.D. showed up brought in by my clients attorneys. This time it was a different story. She was ready to bring in the Bull Dozers and tear the house down. Now I had thought the first house was in worse condition (she said not) and the second was not. I have both of these situations on Video Tape. I showed the tape of the first house to the attorneys. They realized if I had a tape, the defense in the case could very well maybe have another tape. My feeling is that you either have to be on one side or the other. Not waffling back and forth.

To and others trying to get pregnant. Traditional Chinese medicine

states the following:

* Exercise

* Rest well

* Avoid junk food, caffeine, tobacco, sodas, sweeteners, and refined

carbohydrates.

* Do not eat any meat or animal products, which have been treated with

growth hormone. This includes most of the meat, eggs, milk products and

cheese found at the supermarket.

* Avoid dairy products, raw vegetables, and cold foods.

* Eat foods which tonify the kidney and spleen, and supplement your diet

with blue-green algae, wheat grass, and green power foods

Sounds very similar to ER4YT wisdom doesn't it!?

I'll tell ya. I can't recommend enough es IMM-CALM. 1 capsule a day

and I haven't even had a sniffle in spite of the fact that the flu and colds

are so bad here that the hospitals are all filled and people are being turned

away. Everyone else seems to be coughing and sneezing. I gave 5 capsules to

my house keeper who had the plague (kidding) and she said it cleared up

completely in 3 days while her roomate who had it first was still sick.

Wow, I know this is " old " for a posting, but I'm just catching up. I have

been on the blood type diet since August and have lost 20 lbs. I haven't

lost any more but I wasn't on this diet to lose weight... it was just a

bonus.

I am very interested in your reactions to wheat. Since December, I had cut

back on the supplements my naturopath had given me and I came down with a

cold almost immediately. I went back on the milk thistle, the astragalus,

and the polygonum florum (sp?) and started taking Cleavers Combination for

fighting colds. I've made great progress and then last week I was very

naughty and had wheat type meals three days in a row. Bang! Cold in my

head hit me like a freight train. I can't imagine it isn't the wheat.

Also, when I've had something I shouldn't, I have gotten the hives back a

bit, which is one reason I started the BTD in the first place. I also had a

reaction to ibuprofen where my lip swelled up, although I was going through

something quite emotional at the time as well. So I think even though I

suspected ibuprofen as one of my triggers as far back as last summer,

apparently stress can trigger reactions like that as well... and then you

couple it with something that you have a sensitivity to and you've got a

full blown outbreak.

I guess I'm babbling now, but I thought it was interesting that I have

similar reactions as you to wheat and other no-no's.

Your success is inspiring.

--I have been on this 6 months but I have been working on this for

two years this march. I lost 40lbs but gained all but 15 back. I

weighed 195 last January and now I weigh 148lbs today. It had been a

roller coaster until I found out about this way of eating for me. I

dont know if Iam a secretor or not, I have never taken the test. I

did find out though some of the foods have high carbs and I cant take

the carbs because I gain weight. So I eat alot of protein and salads

and try to keep wheat totally out of my diet. I found out now if I

eat anything with wheat I start to itch. Which is hard because I

love pasta and that's one food I hated to somewhat cut back on. I do

eat rice pasta when I need my fix. I do try hard and I exercise 3 to

5 times a week if I can. Its not easy but its well worth it for me.

You can get kelp and any other seaweed -- all contain Iodine -- in Asian

grocery stores as well as in healthfood stores.

Many people find thyroid improvement also with virgin coconut oil, which

also contains healthy brain fats. See www.coconut-info.com or

tropicaltraditions.com. Trish on their group is extremely knowledgable about

thyroid issues.

Charlie's benefited from this.

I take Armour thyroid, which is a natural thyroid medicine. Need a

prescription for it.

Another option is Lugol's solution and SSKI. See Dr. Jonathon 's

site for information.

Also see About.com's thyroid section.

I test for Iodine with a simple iodine skin patch test.

For those of you who cannot afford expensive MultiLevel Marketed products

like Sunrider Foods, there are other options like eating a good diet and taking

a

liquid mineral supplement to start and increasing healthy brain fats like

fish oil, flaxseed oil in yoghurt and virgin coconut oil.

I know you didn't mean to be offensive with this statement -- but the reason

why we use boards is so that several people can get updated on ALL of the

information -- and not have to send individual emails (I don't have time to keep

track of everyone's individual email addresses).

To speak for myself -- I had no idea who all was coming to the Eastern WA

event and wanted to ride share or who had been " invited " to ride share with us.

Kathy R. was talking to some, I was talking to some others... we didn't want

anyone to get left behind if they were expecting a ride.

So sorry if that inconvenienced some. Note taken, I won't do that again.

Thanks.
