Queens School Declared Safe After Air Tests August 24, 2002 By THE NEW YORK TIMES Schools Chancellor I. Klein has decided to open a Queens school where teachers and parents have complained about air quality. The school, Public School 65 in Ozone Park, is housed in a former airplane parts factory. In January, the State Department of Environmental Conservation decided that contaminated groundwater below a nearby building posed a health threat. The Board of Education conducted tests last spring and found that the contamination was too deep underground to pose a hazard. School officials said the building was safe. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/08/24/education/24SCHO.html?ex=1031476005 & ei=1 & en=ac\ e589e657f053d9 HOW TO ADVERTISE --------------------------------- For information on advertising in e-mail newsletters or other creative advertising opportunities with The New York Times on the Web, please contact onlinesales@... or visit our online media kit at http://www.nytimes.com/adinfo For general information about NYTimes.com, write to help@....
