Guest guest
Thanks for that CJ, but I knew what you meant......LOL. What exactly does a surgical bra look like? I never wore one after my BA either so I have no idea. Are they 100% cotton? I'm just asking this as I'm wondering when I purchase a bra if it should be cotton so it can breath. I have no idea about these things and have a great bra in mind for immediately after. It's called microfibre or something and they are so stretchy and soft, the bottom has thick elastic but can be pulled down over my crease incisions ( I wore the same after my BA). Guest guest
Keli I didn't have a surgical bra with BA either, my surgical bra was ugly kind of long like down to my waist with velcro straps and it was pretty snug, I wore it over the compression bandage so it looked silly as hell ha . Anyhow the compression bandage will be the most important thing in the beginning because it will help to keep the pocket closed and keep it from filing with fluid while it heals, also are you going to have drains? drains are pretty important with explant because they help get the fluid out of the body that cannot be reabsorbed ya know. I would think that any soft bra will be fine, I wouldn;t stress too much on it but I would think that it is good to be prepared by having a few bras around that are soft and comfy, I didn't think too much about it and ended up needing more than the one I had, it sucked though cause I was really sore from where they had to scrape scar tissue off my rib cage and everything hurt me, I also was not a usual case, i had lots of thick scar tissue and my textured implants were very much adhered to my body, it was ugly. You should have amuch easier time. Now tell me is she going to use the same incision as the one that you used with your BA? it was crease incision right? To be honest you may be happier that you are waiting for the lift cause if you can avoid having all those scars then that could be a good thing, esp if they don't think you will need it. In my case I needed it bad! How big are your incicisons from BA and did she say if the explant would make them bigger? Can you see them much now? I dont have any crease scars my BA was throught the nipple. Ok girl let me know, glad your here, you will be fine, so many of us have you in our thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Yes CJ, my BA was performed through a crease incision which is about 2 inches long. Both surgeons I consulted with for explant said they are long for saline implants. One surgeon said they his crease incisions are only one inch. The surgeon I am going to said she will perform the explant through the same incisions and that she 'shouldn't' need to make them any longer - fingers crossed - that she dosen't have to. The incisions I have are uneven and a little wobbly but they are fine and white. I am definately going to be having drains. My surgeon was very clear on that matter and said they are needed to keep the fluid out of the pocket, which helps to close it.
