STAFF WRITER A Bronx woman was sentenced yesterday to five years probation for posing as her then-prospective mother-in-law in order to obtain a loan to pay for breast implants. State Supreme Court Judge Rena K. Unviller scolded Melendez, 23, for committing third-degree grand larceny for "the stupidest of all reasons I can imagine." Melendez, using the name Maureen Fondera, obtained a $6,500 loan from Elite Physician Services, then saw a plastic surgeon using her own name in August. Yesterday, she stood in court wearing a pull-over shirt that accentuated her ill-gotten gains. Melendez's sentence was part of a plea deal in which prosecutors dropped three other felony counts against her: criminal possession of stolen property, criminal impersonation and forgery. Melendez, who had a baby in February, no longer sees Fondera's son, said Fredric , the legal aid attorney who repre! sented Melendez. "She admitted to the court and to the probation people that what she did was immature and stupid," said. "She also voluntarily repaid over $3,000 of the money that she got, some of it, I think, even before she was arrested."
