Hi Deedre,

Do you know if your implants are textured or smooth?

If they are textured, there is a possibility that they are " shedding "

microscopic silicone particles via the macrophages. Swollen lymph glands

signify some type of infection, and it may be something that can go away as

your body effectively deals with it, or it could become more of a problem

later. It is hard to say at this point, but you would be wise to make

notations of any changes.

You may also want to make sure you are getting some form of exercise that is

going to help move the lymph fluid around, since the lymph system has no

circulatory pump like the heart. Jumping rope, walking, or rebounding are

excellent ways to keep the lymph moving, so if you can do these exercises

daily, it may improve the situation.

Keep us posted, and take care,

Patty

Deadre

I had swollen lymph nodes as well with my surgery, I had one that popped up

almost immediately after it was in my left breast near the armpit. Then upon

further examination my PS found another under my arm, later on as I had

other health problems I also found several lymph nodes had swelled up in my

groin area and in my neck as well. Of course many Dr's told me it was

nothing, and not related to the implants. My PS told me he thought it could

be related to the implants, I felt that with all my other symptoms, dizzy \,

weak, fatigued, achey etc, that it made sense that they were part of the

whole thing. ANyhow I still have some swollen ones in my neck and groin but

they are probably always going to be swollen, it is my understanding that

sometimes they never return to normal size again. Anyhow they don't bug me

at all, the one in my breast is gone and it was removed by my explanting

sugeon when I had my implants out. I do believe that the lymphatic system is

affected by implants, and the immune system as well. I also realize that

many will disagree with me on this issue, but I have been through this and

know in no uncertain terms what implants did to my health. I am really

pretty healthy now after having them out, with some lingering issues but

nothing like I had with implants. I hope that you will be able to find a way

to cope with this issue and that you will find better health. I really hope

that you can find peace with or without implants and please let us know what

you find out.

Hugs

The capsules were negative but the implants themselves had staph growing in

the saline

Hello Cara,

My son's lymph nodes reacted to the band as well. His are still

enlarged. No, I don't think that they bother them one bit. When I

have his band off I check to see if they are changing and he doesn't

seem to mind. I don't think they ache like the ones we get when we

have a cold/sore throat.

Hi!

I learned from my doc that these lymph nodes often swell from a

mosquito bite in the head (not us) or ingrown hairs. The ingrown

hairs definitely make sense! He also said not to worry about the

helmet rubbing and damaging the lymph nodes - should be fine. My

ortho said that we can remove a little material from the helmet next

visit to give them a little room. My ortho also said we can rub/milk

the nodes down to try to drain them a bit. Phew. I'm glad it's not

a big issue!

Thanks for the replies!

My son also had and I believe still has (I haven't checked for some time)

swollen lymph nodes. I first noticed them after his vaccinations at 4

months. Of course the doctor said " nothing to worry about " . They continued

to be swollen and right after his 1 year vaccinations they became very

enlarged. At that time his doctor sent us to the children's hospital to have

blood work done. For four weeks we went once a week to do this. They were

looking for high white blood cell count - suspecting cancer. The results

were not high enough for cancer, so they told me that he had " atypical

lymphocytes " (sp?) and told me some people just have that. I have recently

asked my doctor to do blood work for high viral load. She agreed to do the

blood work, but also told me that without outright symptoms, like high

fever, sores, etc. she would not prescribe treatment. She's given me the

name of another doctor whom she says may have better knowledge of the new

treatments for autism. I'm hopeful, but not too sure...
