Guest guest
Hi Holly, I used to have those horrible headaches, and since I have healed so well, I don't get them hardly at all anymore. However, I found that I can bring them back very easily--by eating the wrong foods. If you know of any foods you are allergic to, you might want to stop eating those completely. On the other hand, if you aren't aware of any allergies to foods you might want to be tested, or do some experimenting on your own at home to see if you might be having any type of delayed reaction. I didn't think I had allergies, but finally got tested and found that I am allergic to chocolate and brewer's yeast. I also KNOW just by experience that dairy products can mess up my head, as well as too many saturated fats in a short period of time. Your headaches may also be a normal response to your body's load of toxins at this point, and believe me, you don't want to rush detoxing. You can make yourself much worse by trying to detox too fast. So, you might just have to wait this out, and keep up a steady and consistent, yet gentle detoxing regimen. You may want to look into fasting down the road. I did alot of fasting through my whole post-explant experience, and it definitely did help, but is not for the faint of heart. There are a few supplements recommended for a " healthy brain " program. These would include lecithin, phosphatidylserine, CoQ10, Ginkgo biloba, and the B complex vitamins, including choline and inositol. I hope this will give you a few ideas. I sure wish there had been a magic bullet to help me get rid of my awful headaches, brain fog and other cognitive dysfunction problems, but unfortunately, the only one that helped me the most over the long run was time. God bless you-- Hugs, Patty > Well, today marks one week since my explant surgery. I am feeling > pretty well. Guest guest
Hi Holly, Have you seen a neurologist regarding your headaches? If you are in the DFW area, we can point you in the direction of a specialist in this area, who is also quite BI knowledgable! Guest guest
Holly are the headaches new? Are they something you never had before? It could also be part of the nausea you complained of, migraines and nausea seem to go hand in hand. I think a neurologist might be a good idea as Martha suggested, especially if the pain persists and is excruciating. I am curious if they gave you pain meds after explant and how these affected your headaches? I would think that the pain meds would knock it out, if they don't then that could be a sign of something more dangerous, so you should prolly check it out. take care and know that we are thinking of you! Guest guest
Pain meds can actually worsen a headache and/or have a rebound effect. This means that taking pain meds can actually cause a headache on a daily basis. e ----- Original Message ----- From: Heer Sent: Friday, June 28, 2002 9:41 PM Subject: Re: 1 week post explant - headache help Holly are the headaches new? Guest guest
Holly, The ES Tylenol should not cause you any headaches. The pain meds can defininately be implicated in chronic headaches, but only if you are taking the pain meds on a regular basis. If you took pain meds after your explant, but haven't taken them in a while, then I doubt it's your pain meds. When was your explant and when was the last time you took narcotic pain meds? If it's been more than 24-48 hrs, then the pain meds are out of your system and should not be involved in your headaches. It is very possible that the implants and their toxins have caused the headaches and that you need to detox. Also, many, many meds can cause headaches, including vitamine/supplements. Are you taking any other meds or supplements on a regular basis? e ----- Original Message ----- From: hollymdoyle@... Sent: Saturday, June 29, 2002 8:25 AM Subject: Re: 1 week post explant - headache help e,I never used to take any pain meds for my headaches. I just started to takeextra strength tylenol at night or when my headaches are bad. Could takingthe meds be making them worse, or do you think that the pain meds fromexplant surgery have made them worse at this point????ThanksHolly
