I personally URGE all saline 'survivors' to attend this meeting, if possible. We, silicone 'survivors' have already been there on your behalf, and did not get far enough, other than one vote!!!

We will 'help' anyone we can with their presentation, or otherwise! This is an excellent opportunity to make your voices heard, and get your comments 'on the record'!

Subject: July 9 FDA meeting on saline implants

Dear Friends,

I want to make sure you know that on July 9 the FDA is holding a meeting of the Advisory Committee that recommended approval of saline breast implants in March 2000. They will look at new research, probably on women who have had saline implants for 3-5 years. The meeting will be in Gaithersburg, approx 20 miles from Washington, DC.

They probably won't be making any decisions, but presumably will express their opinions. I haven't seen the studies, so I don't know what they show.

The public can testify (5 minutes each). If you live nearby, I hope you'll come and testify. I don't think its worth a long trip, to be honest.

I'll be away til July 7, but if you have any questions, contact our office.

Sincerely,

Zuckerman, Ph.D.PresidentNational Center for Policy Research (CPR) for Women & Families1901 Pennsylvania Avenue, NWSuite 901Washington, DC 20006202 223-4000www.center4policy.org
