Subject: To Dr. Kolb - silicone hypersensitivity

Hi,Someone asked me a question by e-mail, and I wondered if you could help with answering it. She has the same type implant as me, textured, teardrop, saline. She got sick soon after implant, where I didn't have most of my symptoms for a year. I know it can vary but she asks..........Do you think that because I got sick so soon after having the implants (1 month) that I may just be allergic to silicone? I have tried to find more info on silicone hypersensitivity, but only found info about fungus, mold and bacteria growing on the implants. Wouldn't it take more than one month for this to happen, at least to happen enough to make me so sick? ----------------------I wonder if it could even be the body reacting to the implant with a sysematic immune responce too. ??Thanks for any info on this.DarleneThanks for any info on this. Darlene
