Guest guest
, I have been having classic GB symptoms without the stones. I already had a sonogram; no stones were visible. I think they do the scope to rule out other things like ulcers & GERD. This doesn't act like an ulcer at all. Some symptoms are similar; but with my background of HRT for 10+ years, I wouldn't be surprised if it were GB Disease. I was up almost all night in pain. But I will admit, this is not as painful as the rupture of my BI last year. That one will be hard to top..LOL They knocked me out for the upper GI scope. They gave me a med called Versette (sp?). The whole proc took 10 min. They also told me NOT to take any pain meds afterwards, until the next day. I think they do that, because pain is not normal after this procedure. So I don't know if Versette is a good drug or what?? Something to knock you out I suppose. You have no memory of the procedure..not even the ride home. They did a biopsy of something; Because I usually have to rely on 2 friends to do a relay on getting me to & from the hospital, I don't know what happened. I had 1 friend drive me there & another pick me up when the hospital called them to say was done. The doc wrote on the release form, IBS...schedule colonoscopy. I will see my reg DR tomorrow at 10 am. I never met the doc who did the scope before the procedure so he only talked with me for a few minutes before I went under. I think he only caught a few key remarks & ran with it. I have not had any IBS symptoms, except some bloating in 4 days. That's not IBS. IBS doesn't cause GB area pain either. Like I said I will talk with my reg DR tomorrow. I have been keeping a food journal & pain journal.. that should tell them something. Bonnie & Lany have been helping me thru this whole ordeal...It's been pretty gross at times..LOL... I'll let you know what happens. Thanks...
