Guest guest
Can anyone help me find a good plastic surgeon, other than Dr. Feng (as she is not a ppo provider) who does explant capsulodimies, and good breast lifts that is a ppo provider? My insurance will cover the procedure 100%, and if I went with Dr. Feng, it would cost me over 6,000. I loved her, but I don't have that kind of money. Is Dr. Kolb? I remember hearing about a doctor in Texas that also explants, but I forgot his name. Can anyone be of help on this? All I need to do is find the right doctor now, and plan surgery! Guest guest
There is a list on this website if you go to the files page there is a list that says recomended plastic surgeons. There are several that I am told are good. Dr Mehlmed is in Dallas, Dr Huang is in Colorado and Dr Kolb is in Atlanta and from what I understand Dr Kolb is great about helping you get surgery covered. Her website is www.plastikos.com also she is great about answering emails on this site as well as her personal email which you can get from me or from her webpage. She would be a great alternative if you are also looking for someone to help you detox and I liker her because she is so available for questions, tells it like it is and has done lots and lots of studies too. Let me know if you have a hard time finding the list on the site here and I can send it to you, also where are you? That would help to know too. hugs ----- Original Message ----- From: JULIEJJPALANCA@... Guest guest
, Try Dr. Huang in Denver. She is an excellent ps and does beautiful work. She did my explant and I am more than happy with the results! Her # is (303) 830-7200. Lorraine Pena is her Administrative Assistant and the woman who deals with all the insurance issues. Furthermore, Dr. Huang is much cheaper than most other ps' and she is one of the pioneers of the en bloc technique. She also went to school with Dr. Feng. Good luck! e >From: JULIEJJPALANCA@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Fw: Saline and silicone newsletter >Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 12:03:50 EDT > >Can anyone help me find a good plastic surgeon, other than Dr. Feng (as she >is not a ppo provider) who does explant capsulodimies, and good breast >lifts >that is a ppo provider? Guest guest
I know some patients that went to him for lift and are happy, as long as he does the vertical mastopexy you should be fine, you just don't want those anchor lift scars, I don't think he does them anyhow. Guest guest
No, I didn't go to Dr. Melmed . . . I didn't know about him at the time. However, I have meet him, seen photos of his work, and talked to ladies who have used him. He is the doctor who the Dallas Morning News interviewed a week ago. He told me that, when he started doing explants, he expected the worst . . . but the results, even without a mastopexy were better than he expected. I have been corresponding with him regularly for the past several years. As to lift. . . I had a lift with my explant. . . no problem . . . I never considered there could be a problem since I was already signed up to start an eight-hour a day AutoCad class five days later . . . After getting my drains removed, I went to class. I was still foggy, but otherwise had no problem. However, that said . . . I don't know what extenuating circumstances anyone else might have. I'm sure there are some very valid reasons why doing an immediate life may not be best for some women. I suggest that one first find a doctor who you can trusted . . .then trust his/her advice. Guest guest
, Your information is wrong. The most recent info from Dr. Huang herself is approximately $4900-5000 (with mastopexy). Without mastopexy, the cost decreases to approximately $3500-4000. Remember, this includes anesthesia, the surgery, and all postop visits. And the info I have is in writing from Dr. Huang at my request. Also, when you list the ps' and their rates, I think when you state " package " that this is misleading. If I hadn't been a member of this group for so long, then I would assume that " package " means explant, mastopexy, anesthesia, and postop visits. But I don't think that is what you mean, because you only have listed as $4425 for Dr. Feng, yet we have heard many women state that her fee with the mastopexy is closer to $10,000. I also think that it would be beneficial to state that " all prices are approximate " and a mastopexy is an add'l charge. That way, women looking at this list are not blindsided when the surgeon tells them that it is really going to cost them double what is listed on this list. Dr. Huang works exclusively with one anesthesiologist, so she includes the anesthesia in her charge, which is provided to the pt as an overall cost " guestimate. " Of course the anesthesiologist and surgery center bill separately, but all bills combined should total her estimated cost. e >From: " Heer " <idagirl@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: Fw: Saline and silicone newsletter >Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 13:22:50 -0600 > >According to my list she is about 400 bucks cheaper for her explant package >than Fneg. > > >----- Original Message ----- >From: " e Rene " <e_Rene@...> >< > >Sent: Monday, July 29, 2002 1:17 PM >Subject: Re: Fw: Saline and silicone newsletter > > > > , > > > > Try Dr. Huang in Denver. Guest guest
, No, I did not have a lift. Dr. Huang feels that not everyone needs a lift after explant. However, there was a woman I met right after I had my explant done, and she did have a lift. Dr. Huang just felt that it wouldn't be necessary, and it wasn't. You can't even see the scars from explant (or implant) because she went through the same ones. Ask to leave a message with her personally, and tell her that you know me. e >From: JULIEJJPALANCA@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Fw: Saline and silicone newsletter >Date: Mon, 29 Jul 2002 16:06:00 EDT > >Thank you for your help e. Guest guest
e: Hi. Good point. It's good for shoppers to know what the whole shebang will cost--give or take 500.00. There where no surprises when I had my lift--no "extra costs." I had then e-mail me the costs before I signed on the dotted line. I hope things are well with you. Take care, -Marie
Guest guest
Jusine the information is not my information, I got it as an updated accurate list from the recently revised one on explantation.com, the package that it refers to is consultation, pre and post op care and explant with capsulectomy and en bloc procedure and also includes blood test pre op, and or and anesthesia costs. If Dr Huang has told you a different price I am sorry but this is the price that was quoted by her to the girls on explantation.com I certainly did not make it up. Yes Fengs explants are more expensive and I mentioned it already. It is over $6,000 so combined with 4000 it is around 10,000. I realize that you are lucky and did not need a lift and that is great for you, but some of us have endured child birth and breast feeding as well as large amounts of weight gain and trust me e breast feeding and pregnancy takes a trememendous toll on your breasts. I had no idea how much of a toll until I had a child, so for those women a lift is most certainly something they should think about seriously. It can be traumatic enough to lose the implants, but to be left with deflated sacks of skin can compound this feeling. So while I am not trying to argue with you here I think you need to realize that every situation is vastly different and this is especially true for very thin women with small breasts to begin with who have had one or more children, as far as the prices I have listed, they are to my knowledge very accurate for Dr Feng. If you have different info on Dr Huang then please let us know so I can share the info with others. I do know several women who went to Dr Huang and are happy but the prices they told me for explant with lift were very close to Dr Fengs, maybe a few 100 or 1,000 at the most different. Guest guest
yeah the scar will be smaller and usually the same incision with no lift, the lolipop is the lift. You basically trade some scaring to be perky. it is a totally personal decision. hugs ----- Original Message ----- From: JULIEJJPALANCA@... Sent: Monday, July 29, 2002 10:07 PM Subject: Re: Fw: Saline and silicone newsletter So if you don't have a lift, then really all the scars you will have is the same one where they placed the implants, under the breast crease? Also, I get confused, when I see the lollipop scars all the way around the nipple, and straight up the breast to the nipple, is that from the lift? Or from the explant too? So if I don't get a lift, I should only have that one single scar?
Guest guest
Dear : Hi. I had been implanted/lifted and explanted (in the most horrific way) then I have recently been lifted by another doc. If you have had any sagging prior to being implanted, good skin or not, you'll be a bit saggy. I know because I have "good skin" too but was left "bottomed out" looking. Yuck. As for Dr. Kolb, I can't comment as I am not her patient nor have I seen her work. I can say this however, she is very good at returning phone calls, answering e-mails and questions on this site. Take care. -Marie
