Guest guest
Tea May Protect Bones Drinking tea on a regular basis may have a protective effect on your bones, according to a study of more than 1,000 adults published in the May 13, 2002 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine. The researchers discovered that those participants who drank tea on a regular basis for ten years had an approximately 5% increase in bone mineral density at three different skeletal test sites. This occurred regardless of how much tea they actually drank. As with all medical research, don't read about this study and make drastic changes to your diet without first discussing it with a medical professional. More research needs to be done to determine why tea is protective and whether there is a maximum amount of tea you should consume.- M.
