Guest guest
--think pain is an individual thing--can't imagine it hurts more after surgery than it does now. Maybe the nurse is talking about people who weren't in the throes of an attack. A friend just had hers out with that laparoscopy and can't imagine it was awful or she would have said so. The only thing I know are laparoscopies is the one for tying the tubes and the pain is due to the air they pump into you--as him if they do that--still, you will probably be so glad to be over this thing now that you won't find recuperation painful. Re pathology--sure they have an adequate pathology department there for the gallbladder. If there is anything unusual it will say so in the report--won't say why--but will say what they see. If you wish to send it to another pathologist you can handle all of that after the surgery. The pathology department is required to keep it for so many years. I don't think you will want to do more. Bet they get you scheduled next week, too. When are you supposed to have that test? Bonnie '
Guest guest
I've heard of women sending their BI to a special place to get an accurate Pathology Report. I was wondering if I do have GB surgery, should I send this to a special place? AND-- How do I go about asking for it after surgery? The way this hurts, this GB of mine HAS to be badly diseased. When I called in for a pain med refill I was given a lecture by the nurse if I just watched what I ate, it wouldn't hurt. She said there was no reason for me to be taking Hydrocodone for this pain..And I should NEVER take 2 at a time..NEVER..LOL. I'm only eating 3 very thin pieces of Turkey(98% FAT FREE) on Potato bread (100% Fat Free). She called back after the conversation & the dr HAD refilled it. but said take no more than 2 every 6 hours. Gotta love some of these nurses. I have pain in my right upper abdomen to my right shoulder. I am swollen under my right arm(Lymph node swollen from infection possibly?) And also have pain in my lower back at times. I just hope I can have surgery right away. But the problem with next week is, it's a holiday week & I'll bet most every good gen surg in this town has been booked for this week well in advance. Perhaps this will qualify as an emergency. Say a prayer for me girls. I don't like what I've read about what happens when a person has a very diseased GB. Oh BTW, that nurse told me if I have the Lapro surgery, I'd be back at work in 4-5 days and there's hardly no pain involved. I talked with 2 other people at work that had this done & they both said to take 2 weeks off. The pain was pretty bad the first 4-5 days then towards the last 2 weeks was minimal. This nurse should go work for a p/s, by the way she describes pain..LOL. Love,
Guest guest
I found out today that I do not have gall bladder disease or at least, I was told that it is about a 1% chance that is what is wrong with me, he told me he is pretty sure that my stomach issues are related to the massive amount of antibiotics that messed up my system, so I was happy to know that, also today I have been the best I have in awhile so hopefully that will be the answer. I am taking prevacid to heal any irritation in my tummy. I hope that you get answers to your issues soon. I also know many people who have had the lap gall bladder procedure and they are usually fine in a week or so I would think that is about average, they should give you vicodin to go home with and demerol or morphine in the hospital for pain. I don't know exactly why Dr's are so ignorant about pain meds, it takes a good Dr to be compassionate about pain control these days, partly cause so many people do in fact abuse them, and also because the DEA is a pain in their sides. Please let us know what you find out and what happens to you. If you are in constant pain and your gall bladder is inflamed and not working I am not sure why they are making you wait so long to do anything about it? Anyhow hope you feel better soon girl. hugs ----- Original Message ----- From: <shihtzusrock@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 4:11 PM Subject: GB Pathology > I've heard of women sending their BI to a special place to get an > accurate Pathology Report.
