Guest guest
Martha, The more I think about what you said about seeing more BI women with GB problems, I think I may know why. Alot of us have had to have hysterectomies; thus requiring HRT. HRT is known to contribute to GB problems. Also, alot of us suffer financially from all the doctor visits & Rx we take, thus not always eating the best foods for us. Alot of times, it's a decision between food & meds. I remember a time when I only had enough money for my HRT meds. I ate mac & cheese, & pasta w/tomatoe sauce, lots of bread & potatoes too, for almost 6 months everyday. Once a week I had a tiny amount of hamburger. Looking back, that was the worse thing for me to do. But many people live like this & then it takes its toll on their digestive system. I read a study where, in a different country, they always ate unprocessed food. Then the people started getting food from other countries containing processed foods with alot of sugars fat in them. When their diets changed, GB disease started to appear in them. They never had GB problems there before. I don't think GB Disease is directly related to the silicone; however maybe if we wouldn't have had the other problems from it, we wouldn't have had to take the meds that can cause them. Or had the financial resources to eat right. If someone would have told me 17 yrs ago that I would need to have those BI replaced every 7-10 years, costing me an addtional $10,000+, I would NEVER have had them put in. The initial surgery back then cost me $3700 for everything. And that took me 4 years to pay off. Think of these girls now, getting BI as graduation gifts from their parents--Hope they'll have the resources to keep them up in addition to paying for college, buying cars & taking vacations..not to mention the doctor bills if they get sick from these things & just plain living!
