Guest guest
I'm not sure you could have chosen a healthier healing herb than garlic from all I've read about it. . . antioxidant, (Vitamins C, A and Selenium) sulfur compounds which chelate metals, detoxifier of peroxides. . . Why not try aged garlic (it's called Kyolic in the healthfood store) as it is more concentrated--provides more antioxidant ability, prevents liver damage, reduces cholesterol, prevents blood clots, lowers BP. (And no garlic breath) I've heard of some hearing problems, but the sources of them were varied. I had some, but comparatively, they were minor and gradually faded away. At that time, 1992, also had enlarged, slow -flowing carotids and jugulars on that side and I think the pressure of them or something other than infection was causing my intermittent loss. I think so because it usually happened posturally. I know of one woman whose first sign that something was amiss was hearing loss-- I guess whatever part is the weakest is going to get hit first. Also, some have inflammation of the Eustachian tube and can have hearing loss. Inflammation anywhere around that area can last an interminably long time--many years. I was told by a rheumatologist, however, that all of us need to be taking a lot of antioxidants, as oxidative stress (didn't know what that was at the time) is the common problem-- and many other problems would resolve when that is taken care of. You could add some Vitamin E and especially Alpha Lipoic Acid to your regime for more antioxidant protection. You may or may not have permanent damage--I have found the body to be truly miraculous in it's healing ability--I've been told that things that healed can't possibly do so. . .but they did--and I'd had them for years! It was was thought that nerve cells can't regenerate, but now they know they can. We forget how young the conventional medical field really is. I wish you the best with the garlic--you'll probably see more changes than hearing! Bonnie
