Guest guest
This is true, but only if the thyroid difficulty is autoimmune--two different antibodies go to work. When you are checked, ask for antibody testing--a lot of docs these days "assume" that hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism is autoimmune--quite a few things are not--often a thyroid problem is transient. Guest guest
Was diagnosed with autoimmune hyperthryroidism (Graves Disease) with no antibody testing--and later found this was a misdiagnosis. Cancer found accidentally a couple of years later and gland removed; now on complete hormone replacement. Also diagnosed with Graves Eye Disease, but found what happened was due to med for Graves Thyroid Disease ( combined with effects from implants ) . .this is why I said to ask for antibody testing. Some docs think they are so smart they can diagnose without them. I definitely got one of those guys. Sinusitis/allergic rhinitis Was diagnosed with autoimmune neuromuscular disease--I don't know if what I have left would be called symptoms. . . I call them "residual effects." Antiphospholipid Syndrome Overall, was diagnosed with "adjuvant breast disease" It was hard for anyone to render a diagnosis back in the early 90s. I went to Mayo and Baylor in Houston for whatever I could. There were a lot of things that didn't fit into a diagnosis or were seen with various autoimmune disorders. Most antibodies, high ANA, RF are gone; there are 5 antibodies I haven't had checked since 1995 so I don't know. All low labs are now up to normal; I can only assume immunoglobulin levels are back to normal, as they were better when last checked in 1995. There have only been a handful of things found since 1995 and I believe I always had them, but they had just been checked. Two that I know of, inflamed palate and atrophied parotid glands almost or completely ok now. Bonnie

Guest guest
I hate that word autoimmune! But after 4 and a half years of this garbage, I am almost to the point of believing that I am going to be fighting something autoimmune the rest of my life. Bonnie, were you diagnosed with any autoimmune conditions? What symptoms do you still have? Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: Bos@... Guest guest
Patty, I am having Dr. Swidler remove my mercury fillings next Mon. He will be giving me some Vit C before the procedure, and will kindly be removing all 3 of them. I also have 2 other teeth to fill secondary to cavities. He initially wanted me to do this in 2 appts, but my insurance expires Aug 31, so he has agreed to do it all in one visit so insurance will cover their portion. I can't wait to get these mercury fillings removed. I will be curious to see if my health improves even more..... I'm glad you recommended him. He is really very good, not to mention good looking!!! Thanks for the recommendation. eh
