Guest guest
Is there a "norm" for fibrinogen? Need to delve into that I guess. I was operating under the impression that fibrinogen isnt normally present in the serum. . . That is possibly why he mentioned it--it could be that having any at all is an elevated level. . .and your is high, but not out of sight. Fibrinogen does show up with a number of disorders, including inflammation. . .it originates in the liver, if that's a clue of any kind. Guest guest
Actually, in reviewing the lab results myself, it appears that my fibrinogen is within normal ranges. I have no idea why this doctor mentioned this to me? Strange. Anyway, Dr. Kolb, I assume there is some merit to taking tumeric since it is on your protocol. Guest guest
My lab report lists a reference range of 200-400. Mine was 294. After doing more research I found high fibrinogen levels associated with cardiovascular disease, and yes, you are right, it is a protein that originates in the liver. Beyond that, I don't know much more about its treatment, but Dr. Mercola has some info on his site. I decided since mine is in the "normal range", I am not going to worry about it, but I will take some tumeric! Patty ----- Original Message ----- From: Bos@... Guest guest
Tumeric is antiinflammatory. It also helps to detox the liver. . -----Original Message-----From: ~*Patty*~ [mailto:fdp@...]Sent: Tuesday, August 20, 2002 4:34 PM Subject: Fibrinogen I just got back from the homeopath's office where I got an H2O2 drip, a 30 gram Vit C IV drip, and more blood work on the thyroid. One thing the doctor mentioned to me was that he forgot to mention that my previous blood work showed I had high fibrinogen levels. Lightbulb moment, I tell ya. I said, so you mean, I have "sticky blood," right? He said yes. That probably explains why the garlic helped me so much in previous months, and why saturated fats make me feel crappy, among other things. I told him I was taking the baby aspirin daily now, and he said that may help my brain fog, but it won't fix the fibrinogen problem. He said I need tumeric for that. Dr. Kolb, can you shed some more light on this fibrinogen subject? I looked on the internet for some info, but can't find anything in simple explanations. Can you help?
