I have experienced the anal pain and have thought it was muscle spasms, but

have never been told so by the dr. It is an unbearable pain, but I have

avoided taking pain meds for this or other pains. I did take neurontin 6

caps daily for a year and it did seem to relieve some of the pain along with

trigger point injections, spinal blocks, and muscle relaxers. Because my

son accused me last Christmas Day of being addicted to my meds, I stopped

all of them. Now I am getting by with massage to release tension in

muscles, Noni Juice, MSM, and I take Prozac tid and Desyrel (trazadone) at

bedtime. While I am not experiencing the burning anal pain nowdays, I do

have it in other mustcle groups. And I have a herniated cervical disk. It

is what gives me the most pain day to day. I do take supplements: a

compound vitamin/mineral for women and another for connective, garlic, and

use natural progesterone cream and plant estrogen capsule. Hope this helps.
